2014/04/04 Strong Windy Day in Shirahama

Although we had strong north wind, it was very good condition for them, I think.

2015/03/28 Thank you for staying.

They came to Shimoda from Tokyo for the 1st time.

During their stay it had been sunny and very warm, so they went to the beach, Kawazu Seven Waterfalls and walked in Shioda city.

As they speak Japanese very well we had very good communication with them.

We are looking forward to meeting you in September again!

Thank you very much for staying with us!

2015/03/25 Spring has come!

It was a little windy, but very hot here in Shirahama today.

The flowers around Pension Sakuraya are now fully blooming.

2015/03/25 Shirahama Beach this late afternoon

I went to the nearest beach "Shirahama" three times today, but the twilight time was really gorgeous.

2015/03/23 Shirahama Beach with My Son

We had a little strong west wind, but it was very hot like early summer today.

I went to the nearest beach "Shirahama" to play with my son this afternoon.

2015/03/22 Shirahama Beach today

We had lower tide than yesterday when I walked on the beach this afternoon.

It was sunny and very hot here in Shirahama today.

But the weather forecast says it will be colder tomorrow.

2015/03/19 Baby Cherries on Kawazu Sakura Tree

In this season we have rainy days every 3 or 4 days.

It was really cold last time when we had rain, but we had warmer water drops from the sky today.

Kawazu Sakura tree in our garden has a lot of baby cherries now.

2015/03/17 Shirahama Beach today

I walked along the seaside this afternoon after several days.

It was sunny and was the hottest day here in Shirahama today.

There were a lot of college students training lifesaving.

2015/03/12 Japanese style room

It's getting warmer, but we still have strong west wind today.

This room is Japanese style with 8 tatami mats, and we accept 3 or 4 people during busy season.

Now it's 3:00 PM.

We are readly for check-in!

2015/03/11 The Best Beach "Shirahama"

We still had strong west wind today, but the color of the water was much more beautiful than yesterday!!

Shirahama Beach is the best one after all!!

2015/03/10 Blue Sky and Blue Sea came back after the rain!

Just only one day after rainy day the color of the sea was really different from yesterday!

The blue sky came back to Shirahama.

We had very strong west wind, but it was very warm today.

When I was walking on the seaside road I found out 2 young girls were getting the water barefoot.

2015/03/09 Shirahama Beach this morning

We had storong north wind again and the sea was rough this morning.

The weather forecast says it will be sunny but we will have strong WEST wind tomorrow.

2015/03/05 View of Sunrise from Shiahama Beach

As my daughter went to Tokyo with her friend I took her to the station before 6:00 AM.

After that, I went to the beach to take pictures of sunrise.

The sky was covered with a lot of clouds this early morning, but I was able to see the beautiful sunrise.

It would be better to take pictures of sunrise when we have clouds in the sky.

2015/03/04 Shirahama Beach Today

It had been rainy since last night, but the blue sky came back after noon.

When I was walking on the seaside road, I found out they were moving sand which was blown away by the strong wind in winter.

2015/03/02 A Carptet of Kawazu Sakura Blossoms

I found out a lot of petals fallen down from Kawazu Sakura trees at the parking lot in Shirahama, because we had heavy rain yesterday.

But it looked like a carpet of cherry blossoms...

2015/02/28 Rape Blossoms at Pension Sakuraya

It was sunny here in Shirahama today.

Kawazu Sakura tree in our field is getting finished blooming, but we can see rape blossoms just in front of Pension Sakuraya building.

Our customers who stayed today said there were a lot of people came to see Sakura blooming on the river side in Kawazu town.

I think it will be the best timing to see Sakura blooming next week.

2015/02/24 Kawazu Sakura Trees at Shimoda Harbor

After I took my daughter to the train station this morning I took these pictures at Shimoda harbor on the way home.

We can find out a lot of Kawazu Sakura trees in and around Shimoda, but most of them are now fully blooming!

It would be the best timing to see Sakura blossoms.

2015/02/23 Sunny and Hot today!

We had a little shower this early morning, but it became sunny after that.

Besides, it was really warm here in Shirahama today!

When I was walking on the beach this afternoon I found out a young guy got into the water with short trunks!!

He was not Japanese..

2015/02/20 Spring or Winter in Izu?

When I took my daughter to the school this morning I found out Frozen Dews on the leaves on the liver side in Rendaiji, Shimoda.

It was the first time for me to see it!!

Has spring already come to Izu peninsula? or are we still in winter?

2015/02/16 Walking on the Beach

After I took my daughter to the school, I walked on the beach this morning.

It was sunny and much warmer than yesterday here in Shirahama today.

Spring is coming to Izu peninsula little by little.

2015/02/15 Mt. Fuji & White Eye on Kawazu Sakura Tree

My family and I went to Shizuoka to meet my daughter yesterday.

On the way to Shizuoka, we could see the gorgeous Mt. Fuji with snow clearly under the blue sky.

By the way, after I came back from walking on the beach I saw a could of white eye in our garden this afternoon.

 

2015/02/12 Home made Loquat Herbal Tea

There are two loquat trees in our field.

They say February is the best season to make herbal loquat tea, so I made this tea after a long time.

The loquat herbal tea may benefit blood sugar and cholesterol, prevent loss of bone density, have anti-cancer benefits and so on.

It takes a little long time to make it, but this tea is non-caffeine, and also it's very delicious with sweet taste.

And of course it's good for diet !!

 

2015/02/10 Ships under the Stars in Shirahama

There were a lot of ships on the sea, because they came to this beach to protect themselves from the strong west wind.

I walked in the mountain behind Pension Sakuraya at around 2:00 PM, but I went to the beach to take pictures of ships under the stars after 5:00 PM.

It was really cold this late afternoon.

2015/02/09 Shirahama Beach this morning

I walked on the beach and seaside road after I took my daughter to the school by my car this morning.

When I got to the beach there was just only one couple there.....

We had strong west wind here in Shimoda today, but it was really beautiful day in Shirahama.

2015/02/06 Amagi Mountain with Snow

After I took my daughter to the train station I took pictures of Amagi mountains this morning.

Yesterday they had a lot of snow in the mountain side of Izu peninsula, so the top of Amagi mountains were covered with snow this morning.

As the weather forecast said in these days they had a lot of snow in Amagi mountain.

But we had only rain here in Shirahama today.

2015/02/02 Shirahama Beach today

After I took my daughter to the school I took this picture on the way home.

I could see the Izu Seven Islands above the horizon clearly.

And I walked on the seaside road this afternoon.

I love walking looking over the ocean !!

2015/01/27 Shirahama Beach and Shimoda Harbor this morning

When I took my daughter to the school by car this morning I took this picture on the way.

We had a lot of rain last night, but the sun came back again.

And it had been very warm here in Shimoda today, but it will be colder tonight and tomorrow.

The weather forecast says they may have a snow on Friday around Tokyo.

 

2015/01/24 Kawazu Sakura blooming

In Japan there are a lot of kinds of Sakura, but this Kawazu Sakura is very famous for its early blooming.

Of course, Kawazu Sakura tree just in front of the entrance of Pension Sakuraya has already started to bloom.

But it's a little bit earlier than usual to bloom.

2015/01/23 Natural Art "Rainbow" by wind and wave

After the rainy day we had a little big waves here in Shirahama.

And we could see the rainbows by offshore wind and wave spray.
