Today I went to Ito city, where it takes about 50 minutes by car, to see the Fire Festival of Mt. Omuro with my son.
Before getting there we had a taraffic jam but we could get there at around 11:30.
From just noon this festival started with the sound of fireworks.
This event is held once a year on second Sunday of February.
Actually this work has been held for 700 years.
Every year the dead grasses on the mountain-side are burned to help growing of new buds in time for spring.
The hight of this mountain is 581 meters. And it takes only 20 minutes to burn all of this mountain.
This event is really spectacle. (Articles from this site)
It was first time to see this fire event for me, but if you have an opotunity I recommend to see it.
My son was eating rice cake during this works.
But he did not realised it at all.
He seemed to be pleased with it which his aunt bought for him.
Eating is very important thing for him.
You are really cute, my baby !
