Today I'm cleaning the floor of the dining room.
I have already put all of tables and chairs out of this room and will wax later today.
My son was excited to play in this big room.

2012/11/27 Rainbow on the waves
We had heavy rain and strong wind yesterday,
but it became a beautiful today.
The rainbow on the waves was made by the strong west wind.
Sunshine and blue sky makes us very happy!

2012/11/16 Sunny day again!
This morning I walked around the mountain behind Sakuraya for an hour and took streching for 40 minutes.
Actually I have been on a diet since last July and could reduce my weight by 8kg at last.
I'm very happy, but will try to do it more!
Walking under the sunshine make me happy!!

This morning I walked after our chldren went to school.
In this season we can see many kinds of flowers along the road.
Yellow flowers and blue sea are beautiful.

2012/11/04 Walking from Shirahama to Sotoura
This morning it was sunny and very warm here in Shirahama, so I walked to Sotoura beach after several days.
This is a small fisherman's port between Shirahama and Sotoura.
There are a lot of fisherman's boat, and they go to the ocean by those boats to get to Iseebi ( lobster) in this season.

2012/11/02 Energy of the sun
This morning I walked again.
In this season we can see the Izu Oshima island and the Amagi mountains under the clear sky.
I could get the energy from the sun looking over the ocean on the top of mountain.
2012/10/29 Shirahama shirine festival
Today it was a second day of
Shirahama shrine festival.
A lot of people come to this shrine and they watched the traditional dance performance.
And after that they had a ceremony to tell the opening of festival to the gods on the seven islands on the pacific ocean.
Actually it is held on the first day, but they changed the date because of rain yesterday.

2012/10/28 Eve of Shirahama Shrine Festival
Shirahama shrine which has a long
history of more than 2,400 years has the festival on October 28th, 29th
and 30th.
Today it was an eve of this festival and the young boys and girls who are second year students in junior high attended the ceremony which was held in the main shrine.
My second daughter also joined them.

2012/10/28 Thank you for your presents from France!
Several days ago we got a
postcard from our customers who live in France and stayed at Sakuraya in
last June.
And in this message they said they would sent us a souvenir of Toulous in France.
As they told us we got a pretty and sweet candy yesterday.
Thank you for sending your postcard, message and wonderful presents from France!
We
are really appreciated and are very glad that you remember us.
Please come and visit Japan someday again in the future!!

2012/10/19 Good waves for surfing in Shirahama
When I went to the beach there were about 10 people in the sea.
They had big waves today after the typhoon passed away.

They have come to Japan for several times, but it was a first time to come to Izu.
They went to the Japanese restaurant "Nakagawa" in Shimoda to have dinner, and had the boiled red snapper and the fresh Sashimi.
We had strong wind and heavy rain in the evening, but it became sunny on the 2nd day.
So they went to the beach and the Shirahama shrine after check-out.
They are very nice and lovely couple, and we could have a good time with them.

During their stay we had north wind, so they could not swim but went to Shimoda city to walk around and Onsen.
After Shimoda they go to Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka.

During their stay we had strong north wind, so they went to Shimoda city, Shimoda Park, Tatado beach and Nesugata Yama cable car.
As they didn't have strong wind on the last day they went to the beach for swimming before check out.
We had a great time with this lovely family.

2012/10/08 Togai-hama Beach for Snorkeling
My son and I went to Togai-hama
Beach for snorkeling near Irozaki cape, the tip of Izu peninsula.
It takes about 40 minutes to get there from Sakuraya by car.
My son tried snorkeling there for the 1st time and he was excited at a lot of fishes.

2012/10/05 Snorkeling at Futou Beach in Izu peninsula
My wife and I went to the west
side of Izu peninsula for snorkeling today.
On the west side of Izu there are many scenic points with strange rocks.
This beach has also big rocks on the sea and the caves.
As we had a little big wave and the water was not so clear today, but I could found many kinds of fish there.

They came from France and England to Japan for
the 1st time and stayed at Sakuraya for 4 nights.
During their stay the typhoon came to Japan and they expected to have a first typhoon for them.
But it was not big and we didn't have a heavy rain, so they disappointed with it.
Anyway, they said that they had had a great time here in Shimoda.

2012/10/01 Snorkeling at Ebisujima island in Shimoda
My son and I went to Ebisujima island for snorkeling today.
He was excited with a lot of fishes in the water.
It was very good condition for snorkeling because the water is still warm.
We didn't need wetsuit actually.

Since 3 days ago we have had
strong wind here in Shirahama.
But the weather forecast says it wiil be sunny and not windy tomorrow.
This is a good news for us, because we will have a ports day of the elementary school tomorrow.

We had a little bit strong north wind and big waves here in Shirahama, but there were a lot of people on the beach.

They came from Saitama Pref. in Japan and the United States, and stayed at Sakuraya for 4 nights for the 1st time.
One of them was born in California, so it was the first time for her to
see the sunrise on the Pacific ocean.
And they could have a good time with the warm sea water in Shimoda.
When they checked out they gave us a present and we found out a
message in their room after they checked out.
"I will come here again with my husband next year!" they said.
We look forward to meeting you next year again.

2012/09/14 Sunrise on the Pacific Ocean
"What time is the sunrise tomorrow morning?"
Last night our customers asked me.
"It will be 5:26 AM."
So they woke up early this morning and went to the beach to take photos.
When they had the breakfast I asked them to show me the photos which they took this morning.
The photos were very beautiful!
So I asked them to send it to me by e-mail and I posted their photos on this web blog.
In this season we are very busy so it is difficult for me to walk on the beach in ealy morning, but I want to do it!!

2012/09/11 Sparkling sun will be continued in Shimoda!
In these days the sun have been
sparkling and we have had perfect days in Shimoda.
Today I walked around Shirahama beach and took some photos.
The blue pacific ocean was inviting us.
I want to get into the water right now if we are not busy!

The weather forecast had said
that it would be rainy this weekend, but actually it became sunny like
this today!
It takes 3 or 4 hours from Tokyo by car!
You should get this blue pacific ocean in Shimoda!

When I went to Shimoda for
shopping I took some photos on the nearest beach "Shirahama" this
afternoon.
Though it was weekday today there were some people on the beach than I expected.

We has a little strong north wind, but there were a lot of people on the beach.
This summer I have asked our customers about the jellyfish, but nobody saw it in Shirahama.
