When I went to Seven Eleven nearby I wen to the beach.
It was sunny and very hot in Shimoda today, but there were not so many people on the beach.
Under the sunshine the blue sea always invite me to get into the water, but I could not do it today because of my job.

They came to Shirahama and stayed at Sakuraya for the 1st time.
They went to the nearest beach "Shirahama" on the 1st day and went to Yumigahama Beach in Minami Izu town on the 2nd day.
We are very sorry, but it had been not sunny on these 2 days.

2012/06/30 Ebisujima island: Good point for snorkeling in Shimoda
As it was sunny here in Shimoda today and we had some free time before check-in time I went to Ebisujima island for snorkeling.
It takes about 15 minutes by car and there is a bridge to get to this island.
This is one of good points for snorkeling in Shimoda, and there is a big tide pool like this.
This season it is a little early for snorkeling, but the water was very clear today and we could find out some fishes there.
After August the water temperature will be getting higher and it will be a good season for snorkeling in Izu peninsula.

2012/05/26 Exploring on Shirahama Beach
I went to the Shirahama beach with my son this afternoon after school.
Today it was a little cold this morning, but it became very hot like summer here in Shimoda.
As we had low tide we could find out some sea animals at the tide pool.
In Shimoda there are 9 beaches, but Shirahama has both sandy beach and rocky one, so you can explore on this beach.
2012/06/25 Strong wind and sand on the beach
I went to the nearest beach "Shirahama" with my son after school.
We could see the sand removing operation on the beach.
During winter and early spring we sometimes have strong north wind, and it blows the sand away.
So they have to prepare the beach removing the sand before summer.
2012/06/24 Playing cards under the starry sky!
Our customers from Tokyo played cards drinking wine on the terrace after their children went to bed last night.
In this season this is a good place to talk and drink under the starry sky.
They were on this terrace until midnight after all and had a good time there.

2012/06/22 Japanese Apricot Homemade Wine
There are some trees of fruit in our garden.
In this season we always make 2 kinds of wine, Japanese apricot and loquat.
They will be aged for more than 8 years in the store room, and will be served as a dinner wine after that.

The weather forecast says the tropical cycron is coming to Japan this week.
This typhoon will hit Tokai and Kanto area on June 19th or 20th.
Please be careful and prepare everything to protect ourselves.

2012/06/17 Hydrangea Festival in Shimoda
Last night we had a heavy rain in Shimoda, but it became sunny and hot today.
So I went to Shimoda park to see and take pictures with my son.
We walked in the fully blooming hydrangea, and there were a lot of people.

They came from France and stayed in Shimoda for the 1st time.
One of them speaks Japanese very well.
During their 2 nights stay they went to Shimoda downtown and Shimoda Park to see the hydrangea festval.And they had Japanese dinner with red snapper (Kinmedai)
When they checked out they gave us a present, La petite tour Eiffel!
I have already shared them with my family!

2012/06/11 Snorkeling at Tsumekizaki Cape
On last Sunday, as it was beautiful day I went to Tsumekizaki cape in Shimoda for snorkeling with my son.
The water is getting warmer, so I could get into the water without wetsuit.
But the water was not clear and we could not find out many fishes, because the water condition was not good then and it was too earlier for snorkeling.
We will try to go there after August again.

On the 1st day they went to the beach for walking, and went to Shimoda to see the hydrengea festival before leaving Shimoda on the 2nd day.

After staying in Tokyo they came to Shimoda.
During their stay they swam and rented surf board, and went to Shimoda downtown to have dinner with Red Snapper (Kinmedai).
After Shimoda they were going to Ramen Musium in Yokohama and stay in Shinjuku.
How did you like Ramen? How many kinds of Ramen did you try?
And after that they will go to Kyoto, Koya-san and Osaka.

2012/06/01 Ajisai- Hydrangea Festival in Shimoda!!
This festival is taking place in Shimoda Park between June 1st and 30th.
This is the largest scale in Japan, because there are more than 150,000 hydrangea trees in this park.
The best time to see is after the middle of June, they say.

I went to the nearest beach "Shirahama" to swim with my son this afternoon.
It was sunny and very hot like summer here in Shimoda today.
After we arrived at the beach we jumped into the water soon.
The water is definitely getting warmer day by day.
I've been wondering this season the water temperature is higher than usual.

Some of them live in Kanagawa Pref. and 2 of them came to Japan from the U.S, and stayed at Sakuraya for 2 nights.
It had been sunny during their stay, and went to Shimoda downtown to explore and went to the beach.
2 of them will go back to the U.S on next Monday.

2012/05/26 Last weekend for Koinobori
We have displayed Koinobori (carp streamer) when it was sunny and we had customers because My 5th was a boy's day in Japan.
Today, it is windy and a good condition for them.
But this weekend it would be the last chance for them to swim in the sky, I think.
Next week they will go to bed until next April!

They came from the United States.
She has come to Japan several times, but it was a first time for him to vist Japan.
When they came to Shimoda the Blackship festival was taking place, so they went to the downtown to see the fireworks display and the Japanese drum performance in the evening.
On 2nd day they rented surf boards and wet suits at the surf shop in Shirahama and went surfing.
Before coming to Shimoda they went to Kanazawa and Osaka and went back to the U.S after Shimoda.

2012/05/18 The 73rd Black Ship Festival & Official Parade
Today it was the middle day of the 73rd Black Ship Festival.
And the official parade was taken place in Shimoda.
Every year we have to worry about the weather before the festival, but we haven't needed to do it this year.
It was sunny today again, and a lot of visitors and citizens were in the downtown.
2012/05/18 Fireworks Display on Black Ship Festival
I went to Shimoda downtown to watch Fireworks display with my family.
It started at 8:15 PM on time.
We watched these fireworks at the parking lot on Shimoda harbor, but this place was very good to see and to take photos.

2012/05/18 Walking on Shirahama Beach and Sotoura Beach
It was sunny and very hot today here in Shimoda.
I walked around on Shirahama beach and Sotoura beach for an hour and half.
When we have a west wind we sometimes can see the clear and blue sea.
The sun and the wind gave us the beautiful scenery and made me very happy today!!

I was surprised that he brought his own surf board from France!
Yes, he is a surfer and came to Shimoda for surfing.
The sea water was a little bit cold for him to surf without wet suit, right?
After Shimoda he went to Kyoto, and Okinawa for surfing.

They came to Japan from England for their honey moon travel, and stayed at Sakuraya for 2 nights.
On the 1st day they were able to go to the beach, but it became rainy on the 2nd day.
But they went to Shimoda aquarium and walked in Shimoda downtown for shopping.
When they went to a Kimono shop in Shimoda and asked the shop owners about the price of doll, they gave them it for free of charge.
I don't know why, but a god may gave them it as a present for their honey moon.
After that they bought Japanese tea, green tea chocolate and many things in Shimoda.
