A Beautiful Day, Shirahama !!

When I went to Shimoda for shopping I took this picture at Itami port in Shirahama.

Threre is a small beach and many ships in this port.

It was very hot today, and the sun was shinning like a summer.

What a beautiful sea, isn't it ?

A Letter with Photographs from Singapore !!

We got a letter from our guests who stayed at Sakuraya in last May.

They came to Japan from Singapore for the 1st time, arrived at Kansai Airport and came to Shimoda after Kyoto, Takayama, Mt. Fuji, Hakone and Tokyo.

As they don't speak Japanese well it was a little difficult to travel in the country side of Japan.....

Golden Week was finished ...

The busy Golden Week was finished this morning and Sakuraya became quite.
We could have a lot of guest during GW, thank you for staying everybody.

By the way I am showing 2 pictures which our guest sent us by E-mail.

This is a picture taken at the balcony. The new green leaves were shining as well....

Drinking a beer on the beach

We had been very busy in this GW, but we had a helper who clean up the guest rooms today.

As we could have a  short free time today I went to the beach with my children.

Yesterday it was a best day  but we had a little cloud today.

However there were a lot of peole on the beach....

Shirahama Beach in Golden Week !!

We had been very busy these days, so couldn't to to the beach to take the pictures.

But it was very beautiful day today, therefore I decided to go to the beach after finished to clean up the rooms in a hurry.

Actually we could see a gorgious sea after 5 days.

It was sunny and very hot today, so there were a lot of peole on the beach...

Koinobori for my son

As it had been cloudy and sometimes rainny in these days we couldn't do it.

But actually we could set up "Koinobori" at last yeseterday.

We, Japanese decorate Koinobori to pray that sons or grand sons grow up healty and strong.

According to the story of china, when the carp finishes climbing up the waterfall it become a dragon at the dragongate.
So Japanese parents hung Koinobori up in the sky for children rise up like a dragon in the future.

Anyway I am showing a picture of today's beach.....

The weather forcast makes ....

... us happy, but sometimes unhappy.

When we have guests for our pension I always worry about the weather, because everybody want to play with sun, right ?

Actually the weather forcast says it will be sunny tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

Excellent !!

This is a picture which I took in Shirahama last April.

Good Wave for Surfing in Shirahama !!

When I went to Shimoda for shopping I took pictures on the beach.

Since April 19th the surfing competition of Japan has been taking place in Shirahama.

Shirahama beach is very famous for the spot of surfing in Japan, so many competitions are taken place here every year.

On the 1st day, as they had a bad condition for surfing in Shirahama they moved to Tatado beach where they had better waves than Shirahama....

Yes, today's beach was gorgeous !!

Last night the weather forcast said, "It will be alomost cloudy and sometimes rainny."

However today's Shirahama had a very beautiful and gorgeous sea.

Don't you think that it seemed like a beach in Okinawa ?

As it was very hot I put on only shirt at last.

Yes, I could already feel a summer would be coming.

Every GW a lot of people come to this beach to swim, but they will be able to do it this year too!!

Gods from The Sky with Spotlight ....

They had clouds in the sky this morning, and the sun was hidden by these clouds.

But when I was looking at the sky the light of sun started to come down from the hole of clounds.

It looked like a spotlight on the stage.

Yes, the gods were coming from the sky .....

Beautiful day and ocean in Shirahama, Shimoda

In Sakura season the weather is changing day and day.

So it was sunny today after some days in Shimoda.

When my son, Yuuki got into the beach he started to run around on the beach soon.

I understand that he was very happy and comfortable in a big field.....

sakura Blossoms in Western Izu Peninsula

Today I went to Shuzenji for my job, and came back to Shimoda through Western side of Izu Peninsula.

This is Koganezaki-cape in Ugusu town. It takes 60 minutes by car from Shimoda.

There are a lot of Sakura trees in a small garden and they were blooming 50 or 60% in this stage.

After that, I went to Matsuzaki to see another Sakura blossoms....

Spring Ocean in Shirahama

I went to the beach today too.

There was a family playing on the beach, and their children were getting into the water.

We had very strong wind this morning but this wind stopped at around noon.

So they could feel the spring here in Shimoda, I think. ...

 

wao ! They are swimming !!

Actually it was very warm today in Shimoda and I could go out with only T-shirt.

This is Shirahama beach in Shimoda.

There were a lot of people who were walking on the beach and sitting on the sand.

But I was surprised very much to see some people were swimming.

The flowers are singing in Shimoda.

It was rainny yesterday and the day before yesterday in Shimoda.

We are very sorry that our guest could not see a beautiful sea and have a good time in Shimoda .

But some of our guests went to Mt. Nesugatayama by the cable car and said,

"We couldn't see seven islands from the top but there were a lot of beautiful flowers there.".....

Blue Sky Blue Sea and Beautiful beach, Shirahama

It was really beautiful day, today after 1 week.

After graduation of my daughter's primary school I went to the beach with my son.

We could see Izu Oshima island cleary.

When we got to the beach my son started to run on the white sand.

The children love a big field and run around.

After that my son and I went to the Mihogasaki cape to take picutres.....

A Cold Winter Again ? -- Shirahama Beach

In these days I had been writing in this weblog, "The spring has come."

But it was very cold and we had very strong wind today.

I went to the top of small mountain behind our Pension with my son and took this picture.

The color of the ocean is winter's blue !!

And a lot of ships were in this beach because of the strong wind. ......

Rape Blossoms and Bee

The day before yesterday I went to the mountain in Shirahama.

I could see a lot of rape blossoms there and found many bees that came here to get honney.

I was taking pictures very close by the flowers, but they, bees are not interested in me.

So I could take this picture without any danger.

Yes, she is very cute !!

A Beautiful Sunrise in Shirahama

When I was sleeping I heard a sound of something, puuuuuun, puuuuuuunn...

The clock said 4:30am. So I continued to sleep and then .....

"Oh, my gash !!"

Yes, I was bitten by mosquito.

"Where are youuuuuu !?"

While I was looking for this mosquito it made me waked up at last.

It was 5:30am.

But when I saw outside the sun was rising up on the ocean.

So I desided to go to the beach to take pictures. .......

Spring has come with Vaiolet blossoms

"I could smell the spring outside, dad !! "

My daughter, Akari, came into crying this afternoon.

Today it was cloudy and sometimes sunny, but very warm in Shirahama.

In these days a lot of flowers around Sakuraya started to bloom.

This flower is ...... .

Walking on Shirahama beach !!

Today we had a little wind but it was very warm here in Shimoda.

I went to the beach to walk with my son, "Yuuki".

When we got to the beach there were many people who were watching the ocean sitting on the sand and walking with their dogs.

And besides, a lot of surfers were in the sea.... .

Sakura, Sakura and Sakura !!

We went to a mountain which a local man has yesterday.

Our purpose was to get Sakura trees.

He has a lot of Sakura trees in his field, and when I was talking with him about Sakura he decided to give me some Sakura trees.

While we were talking about Sakura my son, Yuuki, was playing alone touching the soil.....

Mt. Fuji and Rape Blossoms in Western Izu Peninsula

Today my wife had to do her job, so I had to be a baby sitter of my son, Yuuki.

I was thinking where we go.

As we had a strong wind I thought that we might be able to see Mt. Fuji from the west side of Izu peninsula today.

I reseached it in the web camera site ..... Bingo !!

So I desided to go to see Mt. Fuji with my son !!

When I was driving on the way of West Izu I could see Mt. Fuji,  I was very excited !!

Sand Ski on Shirahama Beach in Shimoda

After check-out of our guests, I cleaned up the guest rooms and I went to the beach with my daughters and her friends.

We had a wind a little but it was very warm today too.

There is a little long cliff of sand on this beach and we can play sand ski there.

We did it after a long time but the children were very excited to do it.

Yes, lovely day, Shirahama !!

Today it was very beautiful day !

I was standing on the balcony of Japanese style room and I could see a blue sea, ships and Izu Oshima island over there.

I wanted to go to the beach to take pictures of beautiful sea but I couldn't do it because of my job.

Oh, my god !!

Shimoda Shirahama Beach: Guest House Pension Sakuraya

Pension Sakuraya - 20th Anniversary !

This year it is Pension Sakuraya's 20th Anniversary.

We decided to give the original postcard to our guests who stay at our Pension this year.

I had been taking pictures for 6 years since 2000, and total number of my pictures would be more than tens of thousands pieces.

And I selected some pictures of them and made the original postcards.....

A Giant appeared on the beach and A fish was floating in the aire.

As I had a meeting today I went by walking.

When I was walking on the beach I found a loooooong shadow.

Of course it's mine.

But it looks like a giant, right ?

By the way I found the another thing ......

White-eye on the plum tree and today's Shirahama

It was sunny today too in Shirahama.

The plum trees are fully blooming and the white-eyes came to this tree to get hunny.

We usually can find them two birds, they may be a couple.

This is a good season for them because they can find easily many kinds of flowers in our garden.

Kujuppama - A Beautiful Beach in Shimoda

When I was cleaning up the guest room I found that Shirahama beach was shinning with blue sea.

So  I desided to go to the beach with my family.

"After we finish the work let's go to the beach ! Hurry up, girls ! Finish your homework !!"

Today it was Sunday, so we can go with not only my son but also my daughters. ...

We got a mail from Taiwan.

We got an e-mail from our guests who stayed at Sakuraya last October.

(Our guests who sent us e-mail are on the left side in this picture.)

In their e-mail they said that their Izu trip diary has been finished.

They wrote their articles in Chinese but you can see the pictures of Sakuraya at least.
