2015/05/24 Hydrangea in our field

We sometimes had a little sun light through the clouds in the sky, but it had been almost cloudy today.

The hydrangea in our field is now getting colored little by little. The hydrangea festival will take place at Shimoda park next month.

They came from Tokyo and stayed for 1 nights.

He is from England and she is from the United States, and he has stayed at Pesion Sakuray with his 4 friends 7 years ago, and they came to Sakuraya for her birthday.

It had been cloudy on the 1st day, but it became beautiful day after the typhoon passed.

It had been cloudy and they sometimes had a little shower during their stay, but the blue sky came back on the last day.

The children were really cute, and the elder brother spoke English much better than me!!!

2015/04/25 Koinobori - - Carp-shaped Streamer

We set up Koinobori which is carp-shaped streamer today.

Families with boys in Japan fly Koinobori outside from April to ealy May in honor of Children's Day May 5th which is originally boy's fesitival.

We also set up Koinobori in honor of my son for a good future and in the hope that he will grow up healthy and strong.

They came to Shimoda from Tokyo for the 1st time.

During their stay it had been sunny and very warm, so they went to the beach, Kawazu Seven Waterfalls and walked in Shioda city.

As they speak Japanese very well we had very good communication with them.

We are looking forward to meeting you in September again!

2015/03/19 Baby Cherries on Kawazu Sakura Tree

In this season we have rainy days every 3 or 4 days.

It was really cold last time when we had rain, but we had warmer water drops from the sky today.

Kawazu Sakura tree in our garden has a lot of baby cherries now.

2015/03/12 Japanese style room

It's getting warmer, but we still have strong west wind today.

This room is Japanese style with 8 tatami mats, and we accept 3 or 4 people during busy season.

Now it's 3:00 PM.

We are readly for check-in!

2015/02/28 Rape Blossoms at Pension Sakuraya

It was sunny here in Shirahama today.

Kawazu Sakura tree in our field is getting finished blooming, but we can see rape blossoms just in front of Pension Sakuraya building.

Our customers who stayed today said there were a lot of people came to see Sakura blooming on the river side in Kawazu town.

I think it will be the best timing to see Sakura blooming next week.

2015/02/15 Mt. Fuji & White Eye on Kawazu Sakura Tree

My family and I went to Shizuoka to meet my daughter yesterday.

On the way to Shizuoka, we could see the gorgeous Mt. Fuji with snow clearly under the blue sky.

By the way, after I came back from walking on the beach I saw a could of white eye in our garden this afternoon.

 

2015/01/24 Kawazu Sakura blooming

In Japan there are a lot of kinds of Sakura, but this Kawazu Sakura is very famous for its early blooming.

Of course, Kawazu Sakura tree just in front of the entrance of Pension Sakuraya has already started to bloom.

But it's a little bit earlier than usual to bloom.

2014/12/25 Christmas Card from abroad

When I was cleaning the guest rooms this late afternoon I found out the clouds in the east sky was getting colored red at the sun set time.

So I went to the beach to take pictures in a hurry.

Then I was able to see the gorgeous sunset today.

By the way, I got a Christmas card 3 days ago from our friends who live in the United States and stayed at Pension Sakuraya just once several years ago.

Actually this is the only one Christmas card that we got this year. Because most of us, Japanese don't have a custom like this and because we have to prepare the new year cards in this season every year.

We are appreciated very much....

2014/12/14 Japanese style room

My wife started changing the papers of the paper sliding door, "Shoji Screen" of the Japanese style rooms several days ago.

This is one of Japanese customs before the new year.

It was sunny and we could see the seven islands on the Pacific ocean clearly. There were some ships on the sea to protect themselves from the strong west wind.

2014/11/28 Japanese style room of Pension Sakuraya

It was very beautiful this morning, but it became cloudy and we had a little shower this afternoon.

I took this picture this early morning.

This is a Japanese syle room which accepts 5 or 6 people in busy season has both a sea view and a mountain one.

Even in winter it's very warm in this room because of the sun light through the window, so we can have a very good afternoon nap.

2014/11/24 Shirahama Beach today

When I was walking on the seaside road I found some sparrows looked like musical note on the fence.

The narcssus has already started blooming in our garden.

2014/10/27 Boat-wrap Sashimi

We got an order of Boat-wrap Sashimi from our customers tonight.

They came from Switzerland to Japan for the 1st time.

During their stay we had very strong wind, but they went to the beach for 2 days.

They went to Kyoto, Osaka and Nara after Shimoda.

We hope you have a great time in Japan.

2014/09/21 Thank you for staying

They are from the United States of America and have lived in Tokyo since 2 months ago.

On the 2nd day, as we had very strong north wind they went to Tatado Beach in Shimoda, and they went to the same beach again because of the wind on the 3rd day and went to Onsen in Kawazu town after the beach.

When they had dinner I talked about the career of my wife and me, that we were classical ballet dancers long time ago, and after that, they showed us their children' s picture of ballet before moving to Japan.

We had very good time with you and look forward to meeting you again.

They came from France and stayed at Pension Sakuraya for 3 nights.

Before coming to Shimoda they crimbed Mt. Fuji, and went to Osaka, Nara, Kyoto, Hiroshima.

During their stay we had a little wind, but it had been sunny. They rented surf board and spent a lot of time on the beach.

They came from France and stayed at Pension Sakuraya for 2 nights from August 26th.

During their stay they went to the nearest beach and Suzaki Walking Trail.

He is learning Japanese, so we had very good time with them in Japanese, French and English.

They went to Kyoto and Wakayama after check out.

It was really beautiful here in Shirahama today.

Actually I wanted to go to the beach to take pictures, but I didn't have time to it because of my job.

Before coming to Shimoda they went to Kyoto, Hida-Takayama and many places.

When they checked in she told me that her colleague who stayed at Sakuraya last year recommended our Pension.

But unfortunately it had been rainy during their stay and they could not go to the beach under the sun.

On the 1st day the typhoon was coming to Japan and it was cloudy here in Shimoda, but the weather became sunny and they had perfect days for the beach after the typhoon passed away.

After check out they went to Kyoto.
