Today my son finished school at 2:30 PM.
As usual I went to pick up my son after school, and went to the beach together.
We played making art of shadow and hand writing on the sand.
It was fun!

2011/11/02 Snorkeling at Ochii Beach in Minami Izu town
On last Sunday my daughter had a ping pong game at Junio High School in Minami-Izu town, so I took her by my car.
During their games I went to Ocii Beach for snorkeling for the first time.
There is a small fisherman port and the water around breakwater was really clear.
I could see many kinds of fish and took a lot of pictures of them.

2011/10/28 Sunrise and Waves in Shirahama
This morning I went to the beach for a walk after long time.
It was sunny here in Shimoda but we had a very strong wind in Shirahama.
I was going to walk heading to Shimoda downtown, but I changed my mind due to the strong wind.
I took this picture behind Shirahama shrine.
2011/10/25 Snorkeling in Shirahama
As it was very warm today I went to the beach for snorkeling.
There are not so many good points in Shirahama, but Itado area is one of good points in Shimoda.
The water was a little cold, but it was very clear and I could see a lot of fishes there.
2011/10/21 Shirahama Beach Today
Since last Tuesday we have had strong north wind here in Shirahama.
From this season we sometimes have strong wind.
That's why we have already set the fences on the beach on last Sunday, and the sand on the beach are protected from the wind by these fences.
It was very good timing.
2011/10/17 Snorkeling at Kujuppama Beach in Shimoda
Yesterday it was sunny and very hot here in Shimoda, but I could not go to the beach to swim.
So I went to the sea for snorkeling today.
It takes about 15 minutes by car from Sakuraya to Kujuppama Beach.
This beach is very small but the water was really clear and I could take pictures of fishes.
2011/10/16 Shirahama Ohama Beach today
In this season we set up the fences on the beach.
Because we have strong north east wind between autumn and spring, and because we have to protect the sand on the beach from this wind.
Today we had a work to set up the fences from 7:00 AM.
In this early morning we had a heavy rain and stopped raining before work, but it began to rain again after we started to work.
However we finished to do it in the rain......
2011/10/12 My son, Yuuki on the beach
In last one week we have been very busy, so we could not go to the beach.
But today I went to the beach with my son after school.
At this point in the Shirahama beach there are a lot of flotsam, and Yuuki played with them.

Today it was sunny after 3 days, but we had a cold horth wind.
I watched TV news this evening and they said they had first snow of this season in Hokkaido today.
That7s why it was a little cold here in Shimoda.
But the weather forecast says it will be sunny this weekend.
By the way I went to the nearest beach called Shirahama Beach with my son after school.
There were some surfers in the water but nobody was swimming today.
2011/09/29 Snorkeling at Sehama Beach in Tago, Nishi-Izu Town
I have been thinking that I wanted to go to Nishi-Izu town for snorkeling for a long time.
2 years ago, when I went to Nishi-Izu town for buissines I went to Futo Beach and found out that the water was very clear, and decided to come here again in the future.
On 29th September I could go to Futo beach but the condition was not good, so I change the point to Sehama Beach next to Futo beach.
There is a island called "Son no shima", and I could find out a lot of fishes around this island.

2011/09/22 Blue sky after typhoon - - Shirahama Ohama Beach
This time the typhoon attacked Japan and landed in Shizuoka Pref.
We had been in blackout for 5 hours from 4:00 PM, but the power supply was cut off in some places near Shimoda for 24 hours.
Anyway we are all safe.
Today I went to the beach with my son after school to take pictures.
It was really beautiful day and they had good waves for surfing in Shirahama.
2011/09/19 Blue sky & White clouds - - Shirahama Ohama Beach
After taking pictures it is very difficult to select the pictures which I post on our website.
When I was cleaning up the guest rooms after check-out I could find out the blue sea through the window.
" Yes, they are inviting me today!!"
After 2:00 PM I went to the nearest beach "Shirahama".
Today it was really hot and humid, but the sky and the sea were gorgeous!!
I took a lot of pictures on the beach and this is one of best pictures today.
The white clouds were floating in the sky!!
2011/09/16 Shirahama Beach today
This morning it was cloudy here in Shimoda, but it became sunny and very hot after that.
I went to the beach to take pictures and there were some people swimming or surfing.
They had very good waves for surfing today.
2011/09/14 Snorkeling on Togai-hama Beach at the tip of Izu peninsula
I have been thinking that I was going to go to the Togai-hama Beach to take photos since 3 days ago.
When I served the breakfast our customer this morning he said,
"Where is the good point for snorkeling?"
I told him some points in Shimoda, but I said to him,
"Oh, are you interested in snorkeling? I was going to go to the one of good points by accident, actually. Do you go with me? As we don't have any other customeres today I can take you there by my car".
After breakfast we went to Togai-hama together by my car.
It was amazing point for snorkeling! we could meet a lot of fishes and found out the stingray as well!
Of course I could take a lot of good photos for our website.
2011/09/13 Snorkeling point in Shimoda - Ebisujima Island in Suzaki area
It was very hot here in Shimoda today, so I decided to go to Suzaki area for snorkeling.
It takes about 15 mintutes by car from Pension Sakuraya.
There is a small island called Ebisujima.
There are some good snorkeling points around this island.

2011/09/10 Perfect Beach "Shirahama" with my son
Today it was very beautiful day and very hot here in Shimoda.
when I went to the super market to buy icecreams with my son we went to the beach to take photos.
There were some people on the beach and the blue water was shinning under the sun.

2011/09/07 Kisami Ohama Beach in Shimoda
Have you ever been to Kisami Ohama Beach?
This beach also has a white sand and blue sea like Shirahama, but this summer it is a little different from usual.
Today, when I went to this beach and found out that the sand was black.
The typhoon took white sand away from this beach and the layer of iron sand was appeared after that.
But white sandy beach will be back in the future.
Yes, the nature is great!!

2011/09/06 Blue Sky after Typhoon
This morning the sun was shinning.
Yes, we could see the blue sky after cloudy and rainy days because of typhoon.
The sun and blue sky make us and our customers very happy!
All the customers went to the beach after breakfast.
I also went there to take pictures before shopping in Shimoda downtown.
2011/09/04 Cloudy and Humid today in Shirahama
Today I went to the nearest beach "Shirahama" after several days.
I had been in my house all day since 5 days ago due to typhoon.
The typhoon had already past away to the sea of Japan, but they still had big waves today.
In this season there is no life savers, so please take care of swimming in the sea.
2011/08/26 Great summer was back again in Shirahama!
Today it was the best day in these 10 days in Shirahama.
When I was cooking in the kitchen this morning the sunshine which I saw through the window was really different from last 10 days.
At around 12:00 I went to the nearest beach "Shirahama" to take pictures.
There were white clouds floating in the blue sky, and white sand and blue sea were shining under the sky.
Yes, the great summer was back here in Shirahama again.
They are inviting you!!
2011/08/23 Summer day came back again in Shirahama!
Since August 18th it had been cloudy, rainy and windy here in Shirahama.
But it was sunny and very hot today after long time.
After we finished cleaning up the guest rooms I went to the beach to take pictures with my son.
There were a lot of people on the beach and we could see the real blue water today.
2011/08/21 Cloudy, Windy and a little bit Rain here in Shimoda
We had been very busy in last week, and we were not able to go to the beach to take pictures.
Since 2 days ago it had been cloudy, windy and cool here in Shimoda.
We still have a lot of customers in this season, but we are very sorry that they can't have a good time on the beach in these days.
We hope we will have sunny days again as soon as possible.

I took this picture on top of mountain behind Pension Sakuraya.
Today it was Sunday during Obon holiday in Japan and it was sunny here in Shirahama.
That's why there were a lot of people on the nearest beach "Shirahama."
2011/08/12 Shirahama Beach Today
It was sunny and very hot again today.
When I went to the downtown I took some pictures on the beach.
The sea water temperature is getting warmer day by day, so it will be the best season for swimming in Shimoda.
2011/08/10 Swimming with my son, Yuuki
As we didn't have many guest rooms which we have to clean I went to the nearest beach Shirahama with my son.
It was very beautiful day and there were a lot of people on the beach.
The water was warmer than last time, July 10th.
It was very comfortable to get into the water under the sun.
2011/08/06 Blue sky and sea were back in Shirahama.
Summer came back to Shirahama again.
In these days it had been cloudy, rainy and windy here in Shirahama, but we could see the blue sky and sea today.
I went to the nearest beach "Shirahama" with my son, Yuuki.
We still had big waves, but there were a lot of people on the beach.
The weather forecast says we will have a shower in early morning tomorrow, but it will be sunny and hot after that.
It's a good news for us and our customers.

2011/08/05 Sunny? Cloudy? or Rainy? - - Shirahama Ohama Beach
It was No Swimming here in Shirahama yesterday because typhoon is coming to Okinawa and we had big waves.
This morning it was sunny, but the weather was changing all day today.
The people on the beach were using beach parasols to protect their staff from the rain.
The weather forecast says it will be sunny tomorrow.
I hope we will have a sunshine.

In these days the weather have been changing everyday.
It was cloudy here in Shirahama this morning, but it became sunny at around noon.
When I went to Shimoda for shopping I took pictures.
There were a lot of people on the nearest beach this weekend.
After that I went to the next beach "Sotoura Beach."

2011/07/25 Today's Shirahama Beach
This morning the weather forecast said it would be almost cloudy today, but actually it was sunnny here in Shirahama.
I took this picture on the way to the nearest beach "Shirahama Beach", and after that I went to Shirahama Tourist Information to take some pictures.
Our customers who came from Chiba prefecture next to Tokyo for the 1st time were surprised at this blue water.
2011/07/23 Shirahama Ohama Beach has come back again!
This time the typhoon stayed for long time near Japan, and we had had a very strong wind and big waves here in Shimoda.
But we could take blue sky back as typhoon went up to the northern pacific ocean.
We still had big waves at around noon there were a lot of people on the beach.
The weather forecast says it will be sunny and hot tomorrow.
