"Let's go to the beach to check the condition !"
I went to the beach with my children after job.
When I saw the sea from the 2nd floor of Family Mart I could see a looooooot of people and fog over there.
We have many foggy days this summer, because the temparature of water is colder than usual......
My daughters, Akari and Hikari caught a cold at last.
Because it had been a little cold in these days in the last weekend.
So I took them to the hospital in Shimoda.
After that I went to Tatado Beach to take pictures.
Today it was very hot here in Shimoda, so I could see a lot of people in this beach..... .
The rainy season had already been over, but after that, it had been almost cloudy here in Shimoda in these days.
And today, a summer came back again to Shimoda at last.
I went to "Shirahama Chuuou Beach" to take pictures under the sunshine.
I took this picture from the road on the hill.

At around 4:30am on July 13th, I could see a really beautiful sunrise at Shirahama beach.
Before coming to Shimoda I wanted to see this scine which I saw in Sakuraya's webpage.
We stayed in Shirahama for 4 days and could see it on a last morning at last because it had been cloudy for 3 days.
This place is behind Shirahama shrine, and there is a red gate "Torii" on the big rock.
We can see Izu seven islands from here, and this gate seemes like a place to meet gods from these islands.
When I took this picture the sun had just been rising.

Our guest came from Tokyo went to the beach in early morning to take this picture, and sent us this picture to us later....... .
It had been sunny in these 3 days here in Shirahama.
When the weather is good there are a lot of beach parasols in the beach.
And the area of the parasols are becoming to spread day after day.
Actually how many people were there today ? ......
When will be the rainy season over ?
Last year it had been already finished on July 18th, but we are still in the rainy days this year. *sigh* .... .
However we could sometimes have sun today, so our guest could go to the beach and swim.
When I went to the beach to take picutres today, there were a lot of people there. ...
Since yesterday we had benn having a heavy rain in Shirahama.
Actually I was going to take a picture of Shirahama beach today when I went to Shimoda, but I could not do it because of rain.
In these days I always show you the pictures of Shirahama, so I introduce the another one today.
This is "Sotoura Beach" located in a small village between Shimoda town and Shirahama, which is one of 9 beaches in Shimoda, and it takes about 10 minutes to the nearest bus stop from Shimoda train station by bus.
They usually don't have big waves here because this beach is in a creek (a small bay).
They provide one thing to play in this creek in summer, and we can have a fun with it.

Today, it was a first day of 3 holidays in Japan.
We were worrying about the weather of today, but it was very beautiful day.

We were very busy today, but I went to the beach to take pictures.

On every 2nd Saturday in July a Fireworks Festival "Hanabi Taikai" takes place in Shirahama beach.
This fireworks is held as one of events which tell you a summer is coming.
We are worrying about the weather every year, becaus it is still in a rainny season.
Actually it was rainny last year, but the rain stopped 5 minutes before this festival. It was really amazing.

Now, the typhoon No. 3 is going on the west side of Okinawa toward China or Korea.
We were worrying that this typoon would get on Kyushu, Japan this time.
By the way this typoon is probably making good waves in Shirahama today, so there were a lot of surfers in the sea.
Today is not holiday, but why could they come to the beach in the afternoon ?
Are they in a holiday ? Or they don't have jobs ? ........
7:00pm in the afternoon, it's a time which has already dark 7:00pm in winter.
But when I went to the beach I found a fog coming up from the sea.
Actually I took this picture the day before yesterday, and I was going to post it in this weblog last night, but this weblog service didn't work for 8 hours.
So I am posting it today at last, because this is cool picture, I think.
By the way I went to the beach today too.......
Today, my daughters had a class of classical ballet in Shimoda.
My wife usually takes them to the school, but she was going to cook for dinner today, so I took my daughters to Shimoda.
This is a picture that I took at Shirahama beach in this late afternoon.
The sun made a sky light pink and the cloud seemed like a dancing whale. .....
It was very hot today too, but more humid than yesterday.

I went to the nearest beach, "Shirahama Ohama" with my son, Yuuki this afternoon.
(Actually I wanted to take a beautiful picture of beach too.)
When we arrived at the beach we could see that most of people wearing the swim suit were swimming.......
Today it was really hot !!

By the way "All Japan Students Championship" finished today.
This picture is its ending ceremony.
Unfortunatly in these 3 days it was rainny yesterday and they didn't have good condition of waves.

From today "35th All Japan Students Surfing Championship" is taking place at Shirahama beach for 3 days.
Last nigh it was strong rainny but almost cloudy today.
However the condition was not so good.
In this morning when the openning ceremony held it seeded good wave, but after that the wave was smaller and smaller. ......

It was almost sunny today after a long time.
The temperature was higher and higher, so it was just summer !
In the beach there were some surfer, but they didn't have a good wave.
This weekend All Japan Students surfing championship will take place here in Shirahama.
But how will be the condition ? .....
Today the students of Shirahama primary school had a Sand Art festival in Shirahama beach.
They made many kinds of Sand Art separating some groups.
A group of my daughters made "Nimo", a hero of the movie "Nimo", and they won a victory.
I couldn't go to see today because of my job, but my wife took this picture by her mobile phone, so this picture is very small.
There is a small cape between Shimoda and Shirahama.
We can walk to the top of this cape through a small path from Route 135, it takes about 3 minutes by walking.
From here we can see Amagi mountains, Shirahama beach, Suzaki peninsula, Izu seven islands and beautiful view.
When I went to this cape to clean up today, I took this picture of Suzaki peninsula......
Today it was a really beautiful day !!
Besides it was very hot, the sun gave us great sunshine.
When my wife, son and I went to Shimoda, I took this picture at the bus stop "Shirahama Kaigan" with my son, Yuuki.
While I was taking a picture he cried "Umi, umi !!"many times. "Umi" means "Sea".

After I went to the school to pick my daughter up, we went to the beach for a while.
Today we could see a lot of surfer in the beach, because they had good waves for surfing.
Probably they were satisfied with these waves.

Today my children and I went to the beach after 10 days.
In the beach we could see a lot of seaweeds which were taken up from the sea by big waves.
By the way the rainy season "Tsuyu" has already visited in south Kyushu area.
In most of Japan the rainy season lasts from the beginning of June to the middle of July ......
From yesterday, the students who came from the United States are staying at Sakuraya.
Today, on a second day, they had Exploring and Sea caving at Shirahama beach.
So I got into their exploring in this afternoon.
They started to walk from south area of the beach.

Yes, summer has come to Shirahama beach at last.
Today it was a hottest day this year.
I thought that there were some people swimming at the beach, so I went to take pictures to Shirahama Chuou beach.
Yes, I was right. I could see many people swimming........
Yesterday a man who came to check the vending machine gave us stamps with magnet.
My son loves putting something on a refrigerator, and he is pleased with these stamps.
In these days it has been cloudy, rainny and cool outside, so we cann't go out to play. .....
It was foggy day today after a long time.
When I went to the school with my children this morning it was cloudy. But it was changed rainny and foggy at noon.

We can see Shirahama shrine overthere, it seemed like an island on the sea.

We had been waiting for sunny day like today.
When we were in the room of south side it was really hot, but the wind was a little cool outside.
When I went to the beach a lot of lifesavers were there.
During Golden Week they have a tournament every year.
In the beach there were a lot of people who were taking a walk, sleeping under the sunshine and surfing. .......
Today I went to meet my friend living in Rendaiji town in Shimoda.
When I passed by my car near a small park in this town, the green leaves were shining under the sun.
In Shimoda the spring had already come, so a lot of trees in the city and the mountains have green leaves.
In this park there were an old man and children playing together.
After that, I went to Shirahama beach......
I have heard that we can take a beautiful picture of clouds in Shimoda especially.
In this early morning it was silent and no windy in Shirahama but we had a strong wind after around 9:00am.
That's why the air was very clear and we could see great Amagi mountains.
White clouds was floating in a blue sky.....
As usual I went out from Sakuraya with my children who go to school at 6:50am.
On the way to the beach I found a beautiful scene.
I could see Izu Oshima islannd over the shinning sea.
The sun sometimes shows us a fantastic world.....
Last night and this morning we had strong rain in Shirahama, but after noon it became sunny and warm.
We could see a blue sea after a long time.
Yes, it was beauriful under the sunshine.
In the beach there were some people who were walking, surfing and sleeping on the sand....
