2014/03/28 Cycling in Minami Izu town

It was sunny and very warm today, so I went to Minami Izu town with my son to ride a bicycle and play on the beach.

2014/03/24 My son on Shirahama Beach

We had a little south wind, but it was very warm here in Shirahama today.

So my son and I went to the beach this afternoon.

It was a first time for us to get into the sea water, but it wasn't cold.

2014/03/15 Sunset time in Shirahama

When I saw the sea through the window of Pension Sakuraya, there were red clouds in the sky.

So I went to the beach with my camera and took some pictures.

There was a mostly full moon over the clouds.

2014/03/11 Sakura Festival in Minami Izu town was over!

I went to Minami Izu town yesterday, on the last day of Sakura festival.

It takes about 25 nimutes by car from Shirahama.

Almost of every Sakura trees were fully blooming, and some of them had already had green leaves.

The festival was finished yesterday, but we will be able to see blooming for more 1 week there.

 

2014/03/07 Sea Waves and Rainbow

We had a little rain this morning, but it was almost sunny after that.

When we have west wind and big waves under the sun shine we can see the rainbows on the sea water.

 

 

 

2014/02/20 Bird on Sakura tree

There are a lot of familiar garden birds around our Pension.

And this is one of them, called brown-eared gulgul.

But it is very difficult to take pictures of this bird because he (or she) is moving quickly among the branches of Sakura tree.

But I did it at last today!!

 

2014/02/15 A lot of sand on the seaside road

They had a lot of snow around Tokyo yesterday.

We didn't have any snow here in Shimoda, but the road is covered with a lot of sand by strong wind.

And we still have big waves in Shirahama today.

2014/02/11 Strong cold north wind like storm

We had very strong cold north wind like typhoon today.

When I was taking pictures my fingers were getting frozen!!

2014/02/09 A lot of snow on Amagi mountain

Yesterday they had a heavy snowfalls around Tokyo.

It was stormy day in Shimoda, but we didn't have much snow here in Shirahama.

So I went to Amagi mountain, about 30 minutes by car, with my son today.

He was very excited with a lot of snow!!

 

2014/02/06 White eye on Sakura tree

Yesterday it was freezy day here in Shimoda and we had a little snow.

Today it's still very cold, but Sakura tree in our garden is almost fully blooming!!

And some couples of white eye came to this tree to have lunch!

2014/02/04 White eye on Ume tree

There were 2 couples of white eye on Ume tree to get its nectar in our garden this afternoon.

It was still warm this morning, but it's getting colder now.

2014/01/29 Sunny day in Shirahama

It was sunny again, but we had a little north wind today.

I walked along the seaside to Sotoura Beach.

The sea water was really beautiful.

 

 

 

And Sakura tree in our garden has a lot of fat buds which are getting to bloom.

We will be able to see the fully blooming soon!

2014/01/16 Snow on the Izu Oshima island

They had a lot of snow in Izu Oshima island yesterday, and they still have it today.

I took these pictures at Sotoura Beach between Shirahama and Shimoda when I went there for walking today.

2014/01/13 Sunrise this morning

As my wife went to Kanagawa Pref. for a new year party with her friends I took her to the station by my car.

On the way home I was ablet to see the sunrise on the Pacific ocean, so I took this picture.

2014/01/12 He lives in Shirahama.

I sometimes see him on the beach in Shirahama.

But I meet him very closely for the first time.

2014/01/10 Izu Oshima Island on the Pacific ocean

We had very cold rain here in Shirahama this morning, but it was changed this late afternoon.

We were able to see the island called "Izu Oshima" on the Pacific ocean.

2014/01/08 Shimoda Harbor this morning

When I was walking along the seaside at Shimoda harbor I got a beautiful sun light.

When I was taking pictures of the sea this mornig, a kite had just got into my view!!

 

2014/01/06 Clouds in the sky

It was sunny and very warm here in Shirahama today.

There were a lot of clouds in the sky.

It will be cloudy tomorrow.

The sky was very clear and we were able to see a loooooot of stars!!

2013/12/27 Sunset in Shirahama

I took this picture at Ogasaki wing today, which is the entrance of Shimoda city on Route 135 and is one of good view points in Shimoda.

Of course we can see Shirahama beach from this place, and Izu seven islands as well.

It had been almost cloudy today, but we got a beautiful sunset after all.

I went to the beach to take pictures this late afternoon.

The ships sometimes stay in Shirahama to protect themselves from the strong west wind in this season.

2013/12/11 Ogasaki Wing - The best view point in Shimoda

I took this picture at Ogasaki wing which is the entrance of Shimoda city at 11:30 AM.

On your driving to Shimoda you should stop here and you can see a beautiful scenery at this view point.

2013/12/10 Shirahama Beach and Izu Oshima Island this morning

When we have west wind the air is clear and we can see the island on the Pacific ocean clearly.

But we had rain cats and dogs after this today.

It was very beautiful!!
