2012/08/29 Snorkeling at Ebisu-jima Island in Shimoda

As we didn't have many customers who had dinner tonight I went to Ebisujima island in Shimoda with my son.

This is a very good point for children and beginners because there is a big tide pool.

We could see a lot of fishes there!

2012/08/25 Izu Oshima Island on the Pacific Ocean

After I finished cleaning up the guestrooms I went to the beach to take pictures.

As it was sunny and very hot here in Shimoda there were a lot of people on the beach.

They had big waves by typhoon which is heading to Okinawa.

They have just married this month and came to Japan for their honey moon travel.

During their stay it had been sunny and very hot, so they could have a happy time on the beach.

After Shimoda they are going to travel to Kyoto and Hiroshima.

2012/08/21 It was a perfect day in Shirahama today.

After I finished cleaning the guest rooms I went to the beach to take pictures.

We don't have many such a beautiful day during summer here in Shirahama.

We can swim until the middle of September!

They came from France and stayed at Sakuraya for 2 nights.

This time they came to Japan for the 1st time to travel for 3 weeks.

They stayed in Tokyo for a week and in Kyoto for a week as well, and came to Shimoda.

During their stay it had been sunny and they could go to the beach every day.

After Shimoda they went to Shikinejima island by ferry from Shimoda harbor.

They came from Norway and stayed at Sakuraya for 7 nights.

Before coming to Shimoda they stayed in Tokyo for 1 week, and went to Kyoto, Hiroshima and so on.

During their stay it was almost sunny, so they went to the nearest beach every day.

2012/08/12 Shirahama Beach Today

After I finished cleaning up the guest rooms I went to the nearest beach "Shirahama" to take pictures.

There were a looooooot f of peopleon the beach!

They came from Germany and stayed for 5 nights.

It was the 3rd time to stay here at Sakuraya.

We had a great time with you.

They came from the United States to Japan for the 1st time.

They booked by phone calling from Nara and stayed at Sakuraya for 2 nights.

During their stay they went to Tsumekizaki cape for snorkeling and walking, and went to Shimoda downtown on the 2nd day.

And they spent the last day at Shirahama beach for swimming.

2012/08/07 Life Savers in Shirahama Beach

After I finished cleaning up the guest rooms I went to the beach after 5 days.

It was almost sunny and very hot today here in Shimoda.

There were a lot of people on the beach. I wanted to get into the water~~~~~~~~!

Anyway, we can swim in the water safety, because the life savers watch us everyday.

2012/08/07 Restaurant this morning....

They were talking in English, German, Norwegian and Japanese this morning.

2012/08/6 Our customers gave us these presents.

Our customers from Germany started staying with us last night for the 3rd time.

And when they checked in they gave us these lovely German wines as a souvenir.

Thank you very much, my friends.

I have already tried  one tof them yesterday.

This wine is dry and it's delicious.

2012/08/05 It will be the best season for swimming and snorkeling!

Do you know that there is no jellyfish here in Shimoda?

Yes, after the middle of August it will be the best season for swimming and snorkeling because we don't find out any jellyfishes and the sea water temperature will be getting higher.

Why don't you come and visit Shimoda from now?

The blue sea will welcome you!

2012/08/01 Swimming Prohibited in Shirahama

After I finished cleaning up the guest rooms I went to the nearest beach "Shirahama".

Today it's sunny and very hot, but swimming is prohibited due to the big waves by typhoon.

Our customers went to the next beach "Sotoura" where they can swim.

 

2012/07/31 Snorkeling at Ebisujima Island in Shimoda

Today we had no dinner for our customers, so I decided to go to the sea with my son.

But in Shirahama beach they announced Swimming carefully due to the big waves by typhoon passing near Japan, so we went to Ebisujima island in Shimoda.

There were a lot of people around this island and they were swiimming, jumping into the sea, snorkeling.

It takes about 15 minutes by car from Pension Sakuraya in Shimoda, Japan

2012/07/31 Thank you for staying.

They came from Denmark and stayed at Sakuraya for 4 nights.

Before coming to Shimoda they went to Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, Hiroshima, Kumamoto, and many places in Japan, and they stayed in Shimoda as the last place in Japn.

During their stay it had been sunny and they spent all day on the beach everyday.

Actually she is now expected and will have a new family in November.

It was hot and sunny here in Shimoda today.

The clear air and the sun shine made the sea so beautiful.

For dinner they went to the Shimoda downtown to have Iseebi Lobster, but how did you like it?

After Shimoda they went to Mt. Fuji to climb.

It was Sunday, and a little cloudy here in Shirahama.

But there were still a lot of people on the beach when I took these photoｓ at 3:30 PM.

Very hot everyday in Japan!

It was sunny and very hot again in Shimoda today.

After I finished cleaning up the guest rooms I went to the nearest beach to take photos.

It was the most crowded by people on the beach this summer.

They are from India and live in Kawasaki city, Kanagawa Pref.

This time they came to Izu for the 1st time and went to Jogasaki suspension bridge and Kawazu Seven Water Falls on the 1st day.

And they had a great time under the sun on the beach after checked out.

2012/07/21 Swimming Prohibited in Shirahama

Today we had a strong north wind and big waves in Shirahama.

And swimming was not allowed due to the fast water current again.

In Shimoda there are 9 beaches and they had swimming attention on 4 beached of them.

The shops and the parking on the beach side were closed under this condition in Shirahama.

I hope it will be sunny tomorrow.

2012/07/19 Sotoura Beach in Shimoda Today

It was sunny again in Shimoda today.

When I went to the downtown for shopping I took some photos of Shirahama Beach and Sotoura Beach.

This is Sotoura, 5 minutes driving away from Pension Sakuraya.

They usually don't have big waves, so this beach is popular with families that have small child.

There were a lot of clouds in the sky, but it was beautiful day today.

After I finished cleaning the rooms I went to the beach to take pictures.

There were a lot of people on the beach and surfers in the water.

By the way, do you know camping and barbeque are prohibited in Shimoda?

They came from Australia and stayed at Sakuraya for 2 nights.

We are very sorry, but it had been almost cloudy during their stay.

But they went to the beach for swimming and exploring and Shimoda downtown for dinner.

And they saw the Fireworks Festival on the beach on the 2nd day.

2012/07/14 Fireworks Festival in Shirahama

I had worried about the weather, but the Fireworks Fesival was held from 8:00 PM on schedule.

There were a lot of people on the beach and the road along the beach.

After the last big firework display the audience applauded loudly.

2012/07/08 Beach Cleaning in Shirahama

I went to the nearest beach "Shirahama" this early morning.

We had a mission of beach cleaning from 6:00 this morning.

And I went to the beach with my son again to take pictures.

It was beautiful day and very hot in Shimoda today.
