This cherry blossoms falling is telling us the end of Kawazu sakura season at last, and the real spring and the another kind of Sakura will be coming in Izu peninsula.
It's getting warmer and warmer in Shimoda.
I could see the beautiful scenery of the Izu Oshima island on the pacific ocean from the top of mountain behind Sakuraya.

I've been listening the Internet radio KQED or BBC in my car, but I had to put my smartphone on the seat.
So I wanted to get any holder and found out it on the Internet.
This holder is sticked to anything by its sucker, so we don't need any bolts to put it on.
When I want to use my smartphone as a GPS this holder is the best tool from now.
They are from India and live in Kanagawa Pref. in Japan.
One of them have stayed at Sakuraya 4 years ago, and came with his friends this time.
All of them speak Japanese well, so I could have a very good comunication in Japanese with them.

Pension Sakuraya in Shimoda, Japan
They came from Hong Kong to Japan for the 5th time and have been to Kyoto, Osaka,, Kawaguchi-ko lake and Hokkaido, but it was a 1st time to visit Shimoda this time.
Befor coming to Shimoda they stayed in Ito city and Hokkawa town.
After dinner I could have a very good time with them because he speaks English and she speaks both English and Japanese.

They came from Shanghai in China and stayed at Sakuraya for 2 nights.
This time it is a 3rd time for them to visit Japan, but they came to Shimoda for the 1st time.
Before coming to Shimoda they stayed in Shuzenji, and came to Shimoda by taxi.
They went to Kawazu Seven Waterfalls and Kawazu towm to see Kawazu Sakura blossoms.
In Shimoda they took the sightseeing boat in Shimoda harbor and Shimoda Ropeway, and went to Shimoda history museum.
As the daughter studies Japanese we could have a very good comunicatin in Japanese.

There are some Sakura trees in our field, and they are almost fully blooming at last.
This season it has been very cold here in Izu Peninsula since the end of last year, so it is later to bloom than usual.
But the Sakura trees in our garden get a lot of sunshine, and the sun make them to bloom faster than the others.
The other Kawazu Sakura trees In Kawazu town and Minami-Izu town blooms after a delay of 2 or 3 weeks.
This morning I took my daughter to the school and took this picture on the way home in Shirahama.
When it is sunny we can see the blue sea from this point, but....
Since last night it have been raining in Shimoda and still raining.
Of course I know the rain is neccesary for Sakura to bloom, but it should be on weekday at least in this season.
Because a lot of people come to Izu peninsula to see the Sakura blossoms.

This morning I took my daughter to Shirahama shrine, because she has a school trip for 3 days from today.
They took a bus to Mishima train station and will take Shinkansen to Kyoto.
I hope she has good experiences and memories in Kyoto and Nara.

I took this picture when I went to the school to pick up my daughter.
Today it is very warm and we could see the beautiful sea in Shirahama, Shimoda.
The scenery with the floating white coulds and the blue water always make me happy!!
In Japan we have a lot of kinds of Sakura.
And the earliest blooming is Kawazu Sakura, which usually starts to bloom from the end of January.
But this season it is later than usual.
Kawazu Sakura festival has already started from February 5th, but it is only 5 % blooming on this stage.
In our garden there are some Sakura trees and they also have just started blooming.
The best timing to watch Kawazu Sakura in this season will be after the end of February, I think.

It had been cloudy and rainy since last Monday, so we could see a sunrise after 4 days here in Shimoda.
When I took my daughter to the school I took this picture on the way home.
As the air was clear we could see the Amagi mountains, which has snow on top.
In Tokyo they also had a little snow yesterday.
They are the Japanese couple and their friend who is from Thai.
They did horse riding on the 1st day and were going to try sea kayak in Shimoda on the 2nd day.
It became sunny and very warm on the 2nd day, so they could have a great experience in Shimoda, I think.

When I came back home from Shimoda downtown I could see a beutiful scenery with sunrise and golden road on the sea in Shirahama.
Today we have a big party of a lot of students from Nihon University.

We had heavy rain and strong wind like a storm here in Shimoda yesterday.
My second daughter has a marathon competition in Shimoda yesterday, but it was cancelled due to the weather.
Today my first daughter will have a marathon of high school.
We had a beautiful sunrise again this morning after 2 days.
As this Japanese room has a southern aspect, it is very sunny and warm though we are in the winter.
It's not only rainy and windy, but also warm here in Shimoda this morning.

This season Sakura blooming in Izu peninsula is too late due to the coldness.

On last Friday I put the red letters "Sakuraya" on the sign board on the corner near Pension Sakuraya.
Our foreign customers sometimes lost the way to our Pension on this corner.
So I wrote the red letters.

In these days it has been very cold in Japan.
The weather forecast says in this winter they have a lot of snow in the Japan sea area, Tohoku and Hokkaido twice or three times as much as usual.
We had strong west wind here in Shimoda, but we could see the Izu seven islands clearly.
There were 2 ships came to Shirahama to protect themselves from the strong wind.
He came from Chiba prefecture by bicycle and stayed at Sakuraya for the 1st time.
He is going to Southern tip of Izu peninsula and Western side after Shimoda.

This morning I took my daughter to the school by car.
And I took this photo at "Miharashi-Hiroba" in Shirahama.
The Izu Oshima Island was floating on the pacific ocean under the cloud.
It's getting colder here in Shimoda day after day.
At 2:30 PM today my daughter shouted from her room,
"There is a rainbow! Look outside, Dad!"
My son and I went out and found out the beautiful rainbow in the sky.
"Let's go to take pictures, Yuuki!"
My son and I went to the top of mountain behind our hotel.
The seven colors rainbow was shinning and covered Shirahama village.
My son said,
"It's a first time for me to see it. I am excited with it very much now!!"
They came from Taiwan and stayed at Sakuraya for the 1st time.
On the 1st day they went to Tsumekizaki cape in Shimoda to see the daffodil flowers, and they were going to Amagi mountains after checked out.

This morning, when I went down the hill to go to Shimoda downtown I found out that a lot of snow remained on Amagi mountains and Izu Oshima island.
The view from Shirahama beach looled like Alps with snow.

This morning we had a lot of hail from around 8:00 AM, and the beach became white by hailing.
It rarely snows or hails in thie region, but all the places in Shirahama were covered by small hails.
Unbelievable!!
My children may be excited with this at school.
Yesterday the weather forecast said it would be rainy, but it was almost sunny and very warm here in Shimoda today.
And we could see a beautiful sunset this afternoon.
But it will be cold again after next Wednesday.
They are French family who live in Tokyo.
The 2 years old child is very cute!!!
On the 1st day we had strong wind here in Shimoda, so they could not go to the beach, but they could walk on the beach on 2nd day because we didn't have wind and rain.
They were going to walk in Shimdoa downtown after check out, but how did you like it?
