Today it was very beautiful day and very hot here in Shimoda.
when I went to the super market to buy icecreams with my son we went to the beach to take photos.
There were some people on the beach and the blue water was shinning under the sun.

Pension Sakuraya in Shirahama, Shimoda
They came from Australia to Japan for the 1st time and stayed with us for 5 nights.
On 1st and 2nd day it was rainy here in Shimoda, but it had been sunny after that.
And they could have good time on the white sandy beach.
I asked them about Shirahama Beach and they said, .....
Have you ever been to Kisami Ohama Beach?
This beach also has a white sand and blue sea like Shirahama, but this summer it is a little different from usual.
Today, when I went to this beach and found out that the sand was black.
The typhoon took white sand away from this beach and the layer of iron sand was appeared after that.
But white sandy beach will be back in the future.
Yes, the nature is great!!

This morning the sun was shinning.
Yes, we could see the blue sky after cloudy and rainy days because of typhoon.
The sun and blue sky make us and our customers very happy!
All the customers went to the beach after breakfast.
I also went there to take pictures before shopping in Shimoda downtown.
Today I went to the nearest beach "Shirahama" after several days.
I had been in my house all day since 5 days ago due to typhoon.
The typhoon had already past away to the sea of Japan, but they still had big waves today.
In this season there is no life savers, so please take care of swimming in the sea.
At the beginning of this month a couple, who is from Russia and live in Tokyo, stayed at Sakuraya for the 1st time.
When they checked out he said,
"You have the website in English and Chinese, right?"
"Yes, I made English site by myself, but our costomer who came from Tiwan made Chinese site for us." I answered.
"OK, I can translate your website into Russian. And I will send you by e-mail."
"Oh, really?"
As he told us he sent an e-mail with a file after that.
Yes, he translated our website into Russian and made html.files for us!!
I don't know why he made it for us, but we appeciate very much and are very very happy.

Today it was the best day in these 10 days in Shirahama.
When I was cooking in the kitchen this morning the sunshine which I saw through the window was really different from last 10 days.
At around 12:00 I went to the nearest beach "Shirahama" to take pictures.
There were white clouds floating in the blue sky, and white sand and blue sea were shining under the sky.
Yes, the great summer was back here in Shirahama again.
They are inviting you!!
During summer, as we are very busy we can't go anywhere with my children.
However, when we have a time I go to the beach for swimming with my children twice or 3 times a summer.
I was going to the beach today again, but it was cloudy. So I decided to go to the aquarium with my son, Yuuki.
It was a second time for him to go there.
My son was very excited and happy today.
Since August 18th it had been cloudy, rainy and windy here in Shirahama.
But it was sunny and very hot today after long time.
After we finished cleaning up the guest rooms I went to the beach to take pictures with my son.
There were a lot of people on the beach and we could see the real blue water today.
We had been very busy in last week, and we were not able to go to the beach to take pictures.
Since 2 days ago it had been cloudy, windy and cool here in Shimoda.
We still have a lot of customers in this season, but we are very sorry that they can't have a good time on the beach in these days.
We hope we will have sunny days again as soon as possible.
Pension Sakuraya in Shirahama, Shimoda
I took this picture on top of mountain behind Pension Sakuraya.
Today it was Sunday during Obon holiday in Japan and it was sunny here in Shirahama.
That's why there were a lot of people on the nearest beach "Shirahama."
It was sunny and very hot again today.
When I went to the downtown I took some pictures on the beach.
The sea water temperature is getting warmer day by day, so it will be the best season for swimming in Shimoda.
As we didn't have many guest rooms which we have to clean I went to the nearest beach Shirahama with my son.
It was very beautiful day and there were a lot of people on the beach.
The water was warmer than last time, July 10th.
It was very comfortable to get into the water under the sun.
This afternoon we got a box by delivery service.
It was sent by my father lives in my home town, Miyazaki Pref. in Kyushu.
We opened it and found out grapes and pears.
My son, Yuuki loves them very much and was excited.
It was very sweet and delicious!!

Summer came back to Shirahama again.
In these days it had been cloudy, rainy and windy here in Shirahama, but we could see the blue sky and sea today.
I went to the nearest beach "Shirahama" with my son, Yuuki.
We still had big waves, but there were a lot of people on the beach.
The weather forecast says we will have a shower in early morning tomorrow, but it will be sunny and hot after that.
It's a good news for us and our customers.

It was No Swimming here in Shirahama yesterday because typhoon is coming to Okinawa and we had big waves.
This morning it was sunny, but the weather was changing all day today.
The people on the beach were using beach parasols to protect their staff from the rain.
The weather forecast says it will be sunny tomorrow.
I hope we will have a sunshine.
We got into August today at last.
This afternoon, when I checked our website I found out that the access counter said 503,103!!
I made this website by myseld and started to run it on March 1st 2000.
So I have been runnning our site for more than 11 years.

This morning the weather forecast said it would be almost cloudy today, but actually it was sunnny here in Shirahama.
I took this picture on the way to the nearest beach "Shirahama Beach", and after that I went to Shirahama Tourist Information to take some pictures.
Our customers who came from Chiba prefecture next to Tokyo for the 1st time were surprised at this blue water.
This time the typhoon stayed for long time near Japan, and we had had a very strong wind and big waves here in Shimoda.
But we could take blue sky back as typhoon went up to the northern pacific ocean.
We still had big waves at around noon there were a lot of people on the beach.
The weather forecast says it will be sunny and hot tomorrow.

This time typhoon #6 has been going across Japan slowly, so we didn't have any influences by this typhoon.
But since last night we have had strong wind here in Shimoda.
After taking my children to the school by car I took some photos on the way home.
The strong wind was making the sea rough.
Not only Shirahama Beach but also all beaches in Shimoda were closed due to typhoon today.
When I went to Shimoda down town for shopping there were some people on the beach, and some of them were swimming.
It is really dangerous to swim today!!

Today it was Sunday which is the middle day of 3 holidays on weekend.
So there were a lot of people on the nearest beach Shirahama.
There are 9 beaches in Shimoda city, but some of them were closed due to typhoon getting closer to Japan.
Shirahama Beach was opened until 13:00, but it was closed after 14:00.
It will be closed again tomorrow.
Every year we have a Fireworks Festival in Shirahama in this season.
The rainy season sometimes is not over at the middle of July, so we have to be worry about the weather.
But this year it had been already over at the beginning of this month, we didn't need to worry about it.
Shirahama Fireworks Festival is very famous of this firework on the water.
It was very beautiful.
Have you ever been to Shimoda?
White sandy beach, blue sea and Izu Oshima Island on the horizon.....
It takes about only 3 or 4 hours to get there from Tokyo.
And you can get an amazing scenery like this!

On 3rd day they rented a car and drove on Izu peninsula.

When I was cleaning guest rooms after check-out my son came and said,
"There is nothing to do, and I'm getting tired, dad.!
I had a lot of things to do and was very busy today, but I decided to go to the beach with my son for swimming.
Because we will have a lot of guests next weekend, and I will not be able to swim with him.
The water was stil a little bit cold, but we could have a good time on the beach.
Yesterday the rainy season was over here in Tokai area in Japan, and today it was over in Kanto area too.
I was wondering that the rainy season had been over yesterday, because it was almost cloudy here in Shimoda.
But summer has come to Shimoda at last.
When I was cleaning the guest rooms I could see the blue sea through the window.
So I decided to go to the beach to take pictures.
I took this on the way to the nearest beach "Shirahama" from Sakuraya.
Look at that gorgeous color of the sea!

Whe I was checking the weather forecast this evening it said that the rainy season had been over in Chugoku, Shikoku, Kinki and Tokai region in Japan today.
Oh, really?
Because it had been almost cloudy here in Shimoda today.
But actually the weather in Osaka was very good today according to the website of weather forecast.
Anyway it is a very good news for us.
Everybody, let's get into the real summer!!!
Hello, how have you been?
Since the beginning of this month we have been very busy, so I couldn't posted the articles.
By the way Shizuoka Prefecture announced the result of the radioactive level of the sea water and the sand on the beaches in Shizuoka Pref. on paper today.
It reported that there was no radioactivity in the water and there was minuscule amount of it in the sand.
And it said there is no problem to swim and play on the beach.
It was very good new for us and made us very happy, and we can welcome the customers during this summer.
