On every 2nd Saturday in July a Fireworks Festival "Hanabi Taikai" takes place in Shirahama beach.
This fireworks is held as one of events which tell you a summer is coming.
We are worrying about the weather every year, becaus it is still in a rainny season.
Actually it was rainny last year, but the rain stopped 5 minutes before this festival. It was really amazing.

Now, the typhoon No. 3 is going on the west side of Okinawa toward China or Korea.
We were worrying that this typoon would get on Kyushu, Japan this time.
By the way this typoon is probably making good waves in Shirahama today, so there were a lot of surfers in the sea.
Today is not holiday, but why could they come to the beach in the afternoon ?
Are they in a holiday ? Or they don't have jobs ? ........
7:00pm in the afternoon, it's a time which has already dark 7:00pm in winter.
But when I went to the beach I found a fog coming up from the sea.
Actually I took this picture the day before yesterday, and I was going to post it in this weblog last night, but this weblog service didn't work for 8 hours.
So I am posting it today at last, because this is cool picture, I think.
By the way I went to the beach today too.......
Today, my daughters had a class of classical ballet in Shimoda.
My wife usually takes them to the school, but she was going to cook for dinner today, so I took my daughters to Shimoda.
This is a picture that I took at Shirahama beach in this late afternoon.
The sun made a sky light pink and the cloud seemed like a dancing whale. .....
Today, July 2nd, Sunday, the concert of Tokyo Philharmonic Chorus which is professional in Jpan, took place at Shimoda civic hall.
I joined this concert as a member of Shimoda civic chorus group which participated about 100 people from many places in Izu peninsula.
We sung 4 songs together on a same stage, but the voice of this professional chorus was really gorgeous.
This is one of 50th aniversary concerts of this professional chorus.
This 1st picture is sign of this concert which is placed in fron to civic hall.

It was very hot today too, but more humid than yesterday.
"Ok ! Let's go to the beach, baby !!"
I went to the nearest beach, "Shirahama Ohama" with my son, Yuuki this afternoon.
(Actually I wanted to take a beautiful picture of beach too.)
When we arrived at the beach we could see that most of people wearing the swim suit were swimming.......
In these days we had sunny days like a summer in Shirahama, but it was very humid today.
By the way I took this picture from inside Izukyu train.
This train was going toward Rendaiji station after this tunnel.
When I came from Nagoya to Shimoda station on June 24th, I found it in this train.......
This month is my wife's birthday, so my daughter had been saying for a long time "I want to make a cake for Mam!".
But we were very vusy in these days, so we could do it today.
Look at this cake !
On the top of cake my daughter wrote "Happy Birthday !" in Japanese by choco pencil......
In these days we are preparing many things for this summer !
Today I cleaned up the floor of kitchen to work in a clean place.
I am going to clean up the refregerator tomorrow.
At last the first sunflower in our garden bloomed.
Every year we can see this flower from this season, so when we find it we feel that a summer is coming soon.
By the way I got plums in our garden today.
We have 3 plum trees there but one of them didn't have many plums .......
Today it was really hot !!
When I was standing in the beach I was dizzy a little.
By the way "All Japan Students Championship" finished today.
This picture is its ending ceremony.
Unfortunatly in these 3 days it was rainny yesterday and they didn't have good condition of waves.
When I was taking pictures a couple was near the beachside.....
From today "35th All Japan Students Surfing Championship" is taking place at Shirahama beach for 3 days.
Last nigh it was strong rainny but almost cloudy today.
However the condition was not so good.
In this morning when the openning ceremony held it seeded good wave, but after that the wave was smaller and smaller. ......
Next month my son will be 1 year and 10 month.
Recently he wants to write something on a paper.
"What are you doing, yuuki ?"
Sometimes he asks his sister to prepare a paper on a table and writes some pictures.
Our son, Yuuki, eats every foods, but it depends on his mind and condition.
For example , when he is sleepy he eats nothing or sometimes only rice.
So today's my mission is "Vegitable meat ball for my son".
I prepared many kind of foods from a refrigerator..... .
I was going to post this phot last night, but I couldn't do it. Because the internet server didn't work well.

It was almost sunny today after a long time.
The temperature was higher and higher, so it was just summer !
In the beach there were some surfer, but they didn't have a good wave.
This weekend All Japan Students surfing championship will take place here in Shirahama.
But how will be the condition ? .....
Have you ever seen these flowers ?
This flower is called "Sutokeshia" in Japanese, and "Stock's aster" in English.
This flower's origen is North America.
And as this flower is strong my aunt planted.
In Sakuraya's garden we can see many kinds of flowers, and I am going to show the another one... .
Now we are in the middle of June, so I started to repair and change the net of window after a long time.
This net window protect from the mosquito getting into the room.
We, Sakuraya, have a lot of these windows, so we do it by ourselves.
Yes, this is a reasonable way.
By the way when we change the nets we usually use one thing.
Do you know it ? ......
Our guests who have been staying from last night came back from the sea and said,
"We won ! Look at these a looooot of fishes !"
Yes, they went to Shimoda for fishing and got a lot of sardines like this photo.
"Ok, I am going to cook these fishes for your dinner, because we have no other guests today !" I said.......

This tree is a "Loquat", "Biwa" in Japanese.
We, Pension Sakuraya has this tree in our garden.
When my uncle built out Pension, he found this baby tree in Sakuraya's field. So he moved it a little.
After that this tree grew up bigger and bigger, and now we can eat this fruit every June....
This morning I could see a sunrise after a long time.
I took this picture from the window of Western style room on the 2nd floor at 4:50am.
Do you think that I got up early in this morning ?
No, I didn't get up so early, to tell the truth I didn't go to bed last night until then.
Because my computer doesn't work well in these days, so I started reset-up it last midnight.
And it took a long time to do it and data recovery.
By the way after I took this picture I went to the other room to take it..... .
Today the members of Shirahama Tourist association cleaned up Aloe field in Itado area of Shirahama.
In the morning it was windy and cool, but after we started to clean up I became very hot.
When we finished to do it 2 hours later this field became very beautiful.
By the way I found something to see for the 1st time there .....
The hydrangea Festival that is held at Shimoda park is taking place this year too.
This is a signboard that I took in front of Shimoda station.
This boad says to travellers about events of Shimoda all the year, and this time it advertises Ajisai (hydrangea) Festival takes place from June 1st to 30th.
I am going to show you today's hydrangea brossoms in the garden of Sakuraya....
"Let's go to the long slide this afternoon !"
After checking out of our guest I said so.
My children of course agreed with me, so we went a park in Inatori is called "Fureai no mori" after I finished to clean up the guest room.
In this park there are many kinds of trees, playground equipments and observatory.
Naturally our main purpose was a long slide.
The length of this slide is 50 meters.
From the top of this slide we can see a beautiful view of Inatori town, pacific ocean and Izu seven islands.
As soon as we got there my daughter started to slide down, but it didn't work well.....
Last month, May, we had guests of students from the United States, and they gave us the student papaer of their program about Japan.
Today I put the 1st page copied of this paper with their signatures on the wall at the entrance of Sakuraya's building.
And one more thing, a girl of this group gave us a paper with an illustration of "Cat Bus" of the movie "Totoro" and a self portrait(?) of her.
Thank you my friends, we appreciate it.
We really look forward to meeting you someday again !!
Today the students of Shirahama primary school had a Sand Art festival in Shirahama beach.
They made many kinds of Sand Art separating some groups.
A group of my daughters made "Nimo", a hero of the movie "Nimo", and they won a victory.
I couldn't go to see today because of my job, but my wife took this picture by her mobile phone, so this picture is very small.
There is a small cape between Shimoda and Shirahama.
We can walk to the top of this cape through a small path from Route 135, it takes about 3 minutes by walking.
From here we can see Amagi mountains, Shirahama beach, Suzaki peninsula, Izu seven islands and beautiful view.
When I went to this cape to clean up today, I took this picture of Suzaki peninsula......
This morning, when I went to Shimoda station, I found this in a souvenir shop.
This Japanese means "I became to love Izu very much."
Yes, this is a cookie for a gift.
At that time I found the another similar name "I went to Izu."....
Today it was a really beautiful day !!
Besides it was very hot, the sun gave us great sunshine.
When my wife, son and I went to Shimoda, I took this picture at the bus stop "Shirahama Kaigan" with my son, Yuuki.
While I was taking a picture he cried "Umi, umi !!"many times. "Umi" means "Sea".
Then I show you the picture of today's beach. ...
After I went to the school to pick my daughter up, we went to the beach for a while.
Today we could see a lot of surfer in the beach, because they had good waves for surfing.
Probably they were satisfied with these waves.
I want to see the picture that I took .....
Today my children and I went to the beach after 10 days.
In the beach we could see a lot of seaweeds which were taken up from the sea by big waves.
By the way the rainy season "Tsuyu" has already visited in south Kyushu area.
In most of Japan the rainy season lasts from the beginning of June to the middle of July ......
