It was sunny and beautiful today after 1 week.
From today I started to walk in the morning with my children again.
After saying good bye I went toward the mountain "Takane san" in Shirahama.
This is a photo that I took on the way to this mountain.....
Today I went to a restaurant "B Deck Cafe" in Minami Izu, near Rape blossoms field.
This restaurant's owner is a fisherman, so they provide many kinds of Italian foods, and these are not expensive.
This is a Carpaccio of local fish "Isaki".
Yes, it is very good.
They have some set menus and aracartes. I am introducing other foods.....
Have you ever had "Ochazuke"?
This is a traditional Japanese cooking.
We usually make it with, for example, rice, sea urchin, Umeboshi and green tea.
But today I used more garnishes for today's our dinner, dried fish, Konbu, Wasabi, small rice puff and Dashi soup.
It was really good ! .....
Have you ever seen these flowers ?
This flower is "Fuji", "Wistaria" in English.
In Japan we can see these flowers in April and May.
And we have some festival of this tree in many places in Japan.
By the way today's my son "Yuuki".....
Last night we had a very strong rain in Shirahama.
That's why big waves brought a lot of seaweeds to the beach.
I found that a small river appeared by rain on the street in front of our Pension this morning.
The TV news program said that some roads were prohibited in Minami Izu.....
After our guests checked out, we usually clean a guestroom.
Today, when I was cleaning this guestroom, my son, Yuuki, came to this room as usual.
I think that he just wanted to play with me.
But actually he wants to touch and move everything in a guest room, so I always ask him to bring something in stead......
Today was Sunday.
My daughters were in a holiday, so we went to Sotorura beach between Shirahama and Shimoda with my son.
This beach is in a creek and there is a parking lot in front of this beach.
Especially we can use it without parking charge except busy season.
When we arrived at this beach, there is a family who were enjoying a sea kayak.
After parking our car my daughters went to the beach soon.
My son, Yuuki, started to walk toward the beach slowly, and when he reached near the waves his sisters have already been playing in the water.
Then my son continued to walk toward the waves, but......
Have you ever seen these dried fishes ?
These are "Jack Mackerel", "Aji" in Japanese.
Today we, family, went to Shimoda for shopping and found these dried fishes in a supermarket.
These are home made dried fishes.....
From today, fresh children started to go to school by walking as a first day of new year.
My daughter, Akari, is a reader of group of children who live in our area.
This is not a reason that I thought, but I decided to go to the school with them after long time.
It was sunny this morning, so I was very happy to walk.
After getting to the school I said good bye, and I continued to walk toward Kawazu town.
After all I reached to the end of Shirahama Chuou beach, and took this picture from top of a hill.
From this place we can see "Shimoda Prince Hotel" on the right side of this picture, and today I went back to my home walking along the beach......
In spring, we, Japanese have many imagination about it, but one of them is "Strawberry".
In Izu peninsula there are some places where we can pick strawberrys to eat in a farm.
But the nearest place is Minami Izu, "South area of Izu", about 30 minutes by car from Shirahama.
We have ever been there for 2 times until now, I'm going to show you some pictures that I took there from my computer.....
It was sunny today too.
But as the air was not clear we couldn't see Izu seven islands and the sea was not beautiful like yesterday.
We were right to go to the beach yesterday.
By the way it was very warm today, so my daughter, my son and me took peas in our field.
These peas are really different from peas sold in a supermarket.......
After shopping in Shimoda town we went to the beach "Kujuppama" today.
This beach is very close from Tsumekizaki cape in Suzaki peninsula.
It takes about 10 minutes by car from Shirahama.
We have been living in Shirahama for 13 years, but we had never been this beach.
Today we could see a beautiful sea in Shirahama, so we decided to go Kujuppama.
We parked our car in a free parking lot near this beach, and went down a path to get there .....
Last night we had a really strong storm in Shirahama.
But I guess that the storm brought everything, today's Shirahama beach was so beautiful !!
When we went to Shimoda town to go shopping I took this picture from bus stop "Shirahama Kaigan" on route 135......
It was rainny today and I couldn't take a photo outside.
So I post a picuture of Sakura that I took a few days ago.
This place is Sakura path along the river "Inouzawa-gawa" in Shimoda.
When I went there it was very cold, and there was nobody.
But I could find only one group who were drinking under the cherry blossoms......

My daughters had a class of classical ballet today, and after that, we sent to the beach.
There were many people who were walking, running, and sleeping.
When we had arrived at the beach my children started to play with ball and racket....
Today it was really warm and a beautiful day in Shirahama !
The air was very clear and we could see Amagi mountains and Izu Oshima island.
Besides the color of sea was just emerald green.
When I was taking pictures in the beach, some poeple came there and said.....
We usually serve a Beef steak as a main dish of first night's dinner.
But we started to provide this menu for those who don't like a beef or can't eat it.
This is a "Meuniere of Fish with Itarian souce" using fresh fish from Shimoda fish market.
Yes, we provide it in stead of beef for you until April 31st !
When we went shopping to Shimoda, we went to "Shimoda Nesugatayama Ropeway" with my wife, my daughter and my son.
In Japan we, Japanese, call a Cable car "Ropeway".
There is a ropeway station in front of Shimoda train staion.
And it takes only 3 minutes and half to the top of mountain.....
Shimoda is very famous for fresh fishes.
Especially this Shimoda's fish "Kinmedai"in Japanese, "Alfonsino" in English, is most famous in Japan.
That's why we started to sereve this meal "Kinmedai Kamameshi" as a dinner's menu from this month until the end of April.
I can't explane it in English well, but it means alfonsino, rice and vegitables are cooked with soysauce, sake in a ball.
This is Japanese traditional cooking.
Why don't you order this ?
The price for 2 people would be 2,000 yen as a extra charge.
Yesterday our guest asked me that he is looking for a beach which he watched in a TV program and at the Osak train station.
So I went to take pictures for him today.
This is one of them "Itado port" in the north area of Shirahama.
There are many ships for fishing of Japanese spiny lobstar, top shell, squid, jack mackerel, alfonsino and etc.... .
Today my son and me went to Aquarium in Shimoda with a family of my friend of university.
I have ever been this aquarium many times, but it was first time for my son. He was very excited there.
This aquarium has many places to see, and this is one of them "Floating Aqua Tank".
It means this big aqua tank is floating on the sea as a ship. I think we can't see it in the other aquarium in Japan. The other tanks are mostly in the buildings......
We had a strong wind today in Shirahama.
When I went to the beach, I saw some windsurfers there.
The wind was not so strong, but they run on the sea with high speed.
It was very warm today, so they felt really excited.
By the way today's Yuuki .......
When I went for shopping I went to "Shirahama Chuou Beach" with my daughter and son.
This beach is on the opposit side of Shirahama Ohama beach which is nearest one of Sakuraya.
And this beach has some woody teracce and path along the sea.
Several years ago this beach had been selected as one of 88 beautiful beach of Japan.
Shizuoka Prefecture has only 2 of them..... .
" It will be sunny this afternoon." the weather forcast said, but actually it was almost cloudy at all.
I am very sorry that our guest from Italy could not see beautiful Shirahama beach.
When I went to the beach, there were many lifesavers who were students of university and were practicing.
Besides they are all women !! I was really surprised.
By the way I show you today's my son, Yuuki, .......
Today my wife, my children and me went to Shimoda for shopping.
I sometimes go to supermarket with my son. When he was baby, I bought holding him. But he recently wants to walk in a supermarket by himself.
Probably he wants see and touch everything.
By the way I found one thing that I want to introduce....
Today it was very warm in Shirahama.
I felt a summer a little when I was in a car.
On the route 135 there were a lot of cars of the other prefecture, because now we are in a long holidays in Japan.
Before going to Shimoda my son, Yuuki, and me went to Shirahama beach.....
In the late afternoon, when I was preparing our dinner in the kitchen, I found that the sun was setting through the window.
So I went to the upstairs room soon and took some pictures of sunset.
It was really beautiful sunset that I couldn't see for a long time.
It seemed like a painting on the big canvas......
It was rainny in the afternoon in Shirahama.
The tree of Kawazu Sakura has a lot of small fruits and the green leaves.
In the rain I could find the raindrop on a leaf.
It was really small and beautiful gift from the rain.
In this season we can see many kind of flowers in our garden.
This flower is "Sumomo" in Japanese, "Damson" or "Japanese plum" in english.
We look forward to eating this fruit in late June.

4 days ago, "Kawazu Sakura Festival" had just finished, but this time the other kinds of Sakura are beginning to bloom in Shimoda.
I found this flower in our garden today, this sakura is one kind of them, "Yama Sakura", it means Sakura in the moutain.
I could see a beautiful swinging Sakura in the wind.
It was almost sunny in the morning in Shirahama, but.....
