Yesterday it was freezy day here in Shimoda and we had a little snow.
Today it's still very cold, but Sakura tree in our garden is almost fully blooming!!
And some couples of white eye came to this tree to have lunch!

There were 2 couples of white eye on Ume tree to get its nectar in our garden this afternoon.
It was still warm this morning, but it's getting colder now.

After check out they went to Tsumekizaki cape to see narcissus flowers, and went to Irozaki cape.

Have you ever see these flowers?
They are flowers of Aloe.
In this season we can see a lot of Aloes which have red flowers, because we don't have any snow in winter.
2013/12/23 Miso soup of Ise-ebi
We served this Miso soup with Ise-ebi, Japanese lobster, as an extra order yesterday morning.
Ise-ebi is a little expensive but it's very deliciout!!

2013/10/27 My family on the Shirahama Beach today
The typhoon #27 passed away yesterday, but we didn't have any damages.
I took this picture on Shirahama Beach this after noon on the way to Shimoda.
I went to Shimoda for shopping with my family.
We had very good day under the blue sky.
By the way, I started cleaning our guest rooms 3 days ago.
When we have a lot of customers in busy season we can't do it, so and waxed the floor of the Western style room after I got all of things out of room.

Is typhoon coming?
We had heavy rain in Shimoda this early morning, but it's sunny now!
All of our customers for tonight cancelled because of typhoon.
We may have a storm tonight and tomorrow morning.

Our customer who came from Tokyo gave me this present.
I'm not good at whisky, so I have never heard about it, but is it very famous and popular whisky?

This family came from France and stayed for 6
nights.
They went to the nearest beach "Shirahama", Sotoura Beach and many places in Shimoda.
After check-out they went to Narita airport to leave Japan.

They came from France and stayed
for 3 nights.
On the 2nd day they went to Shimoda aquarium for the dolphin touching.
In the 3rd night their daughter put a Japanese Kimono which they bought in Kyoto when they had dinner.
And when they checked out they gave us a present.
It was a very delicious sable which they brought from France!

2013/07/22 Funamori - Sashimi arrengement!
Last nights we served this Funamori to our
customers who ordered in advance.
Several portions of sashimi of local fishes are arranged on a wooden container made in the shape of a boat.

They came from Switzerland and stayed at
Pension Sakuraya for 2 nights.
Before coming to Shimoda they went to Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya and Mt. Fuji, and climbed to the top!!
During their stay in Shimoda it had been almost sunny, and of course they went to the beach for swimming for 3 days.

The Japan Meteological Agency has just announced the rainy season
was over today!!
It is 2 weeks earlier than usual.

2013/07/07 Drinking Beer after Beach!!
I watched a video taken in Tokyo on TV today.
They had a strong sun light and it was very hot in Tokyo.
On the other hand it was almost cloudy but very very humid here in Shimoda before 3:00PM.
Our customers came back from the beech and was drinking beer after shower this late afternoon.
I wanted to join them if I didn't have a job.
2013/07/05 The repeat customers from Taiwan!!!
Seven years ago, they came to
Japan and stayed at Sakuraya for the 1st time.
They had already had their son, but they leaned him on their parents and came to Japan.
And this time they came to Shimoda again with their son!
We were very glad to meet the first repeat customers from Taiwan, and of course, we had a good time and a great communication with this beautiful family again.

2013/07/05 Presents from Oregon in the United States
Yesterday we got a postal package
from our customers who live in Kamakura and stayed with us in last June.
When I opened it we found out some presents and message from their friends in Oregon.
During their stay I took their daughter to the doctor because of the middle ear infection.
How is she going?
