2013/06/09 Thank you for staying!

They are French family who live in Tokyo and had stayed at Sakuraya during last Golden Week in May, and came again for the 2nd time.

On the 2nd day they went to the beach and Shimoda Park to see the hydrangea flowers. And they went to Tsumekizaki cape after checked out.

They are very beautiful family!

They are from Russia and live in Tokyo.

Two of them have stayed at Pension Sakuraya 2 years ago, and they came with their friends this time.

After they checked out they went to Hydrangea Festival, Aquarium and Mt. Nesugata Cable car, but were you able to go to all these places today?

All of them speak Japanese very well, so we had a good comunication with them in Japanese.

They came from California and stayed for 3 nights.

During their stay they went to Shimoda park to see the hydrangea flower festival, walked in Shimoda town and went to Mt. Nesugata by cable car.

He is a college teacher and a steel drum player and she is a creator of Shibori things in California.

They came from Canada and stayed at Sakuraya for 1 night.

Before coming to Shimoda they went to Kyoto and Osaka, and will stay in Hakone for 2 nights after Shimoda.

They live in Kanagawa Pref. and came to Shimoda to see the Black Ship Festival for the 1st time.

We are very happy to hear that one of them is a school teacher and her student's family has stayed at Sakuraya in last May and they recommended our Pension to her.

They live in Kanagawa Pref. and came to Shimoda for the 1st time.

They departed from Kanagawa at 6:00 AM and arrived in Shimoda at around 10:00 AM.
They saw the Black Ship Festival Official Parade in Shimoda and came to Sakuraya after that.

2013/05/19 Breakfast this morning

I took this picture this morning.

Last night all rooms were occupied with only foreigners, and English, German and French were spoken at breakfast this morning.

I was not able to go to Black Ship Festival because of my job after all, but I had a great time with a lot of foreign customers at Pension Sakuraya this weekend.

If I spoke not only English but also German and French it would be much more excited to have good comunication with them.

They are from France and stayed at Sakuraya for 2 nights for the 1st time.

They rented bikes for 3 days and went to many places in Shimoda by bike.

On 2nd day, as it was a beautiful day he rented a surf board and played surfing at Shirahama beach.

2013/05/12 Rice Ball Lesson!

They came from New York to Japan for the 1st time and stayed at Sakuraya for 2 nights.

After 2 nights stay in Tokyo they came to Shimoda because she wanted to surf in Shimoda.

We are very sorry, but it had been rainy on the 1st and the 2nd day, so she was able to surf in only the last morning.

They are ineterested in Japanese cooking, and she sometimes make a rice in her home.

When they had breakfast in the last morning she asked me to make a rice ball, because it is hard for her to make it, and she always too big  rice ball.

So I showed them how to make a rice ball after breakfast, because we didn't have any other customers this morning.

They tried to make some rice balls and made very good ones.

They went to Kyoto and Osaka after check out.

They are from India and live in Tokyo.

It was a first time for them to come to Shimoda and Izu peninsula.

On the 1st day they went to Mt. Omuro and Jogasaki suspention bridge.

On the 2nd day they went to Shirahama beach and had good time there under the sun.

2013/04/30 Thank you for staying!

They came from Switzerland and stayed for 8 nights.

During their stay they went to the nearest beach "Shirahama", Shimoda aquarium, Shimoda city and many places.

And their Japanese friends came to Izu and drove with this family to Shuzenji town, Western part of Izu peninsula for 2 days.

In the 1st night their children asked my son to play card game.

 

My son was very nervous befor playing because it was the first time to play with the foreign children, but my son became very happy and could have a lot of great experiences with them.

When they checked out they gave us a present from Switzerland, which was a red moneybox looked like a cow bell. Thank you very much for staying with us. We had a lot of great time with you!!

2013/04/29 Thank you for staying with us.

They are from China and have lived in Saitama since more than 8 years ago.

As they love sea and beach they went to Ryugujima island in Shirahama, Ebisujima island in Suzaki and Irozaki cape in Minami Izu town on the 2nd day.

On the 3rd day they got up before 4:00 PM and went to the nearest beach "Shirahama" to see the sunrise, and went to the Aquarium after check out.

Theyr were very lucky, because it had been sunny during their stay.

They are from India and live in Tokyo.

Last month their mother came from India to meet them and came to Shimoda together.

They went to Mt. Omuro and Jogasaki suspention bridge in Ito city on the 1st day, and went to Animal Kingdom in Inatori town after check out.

They are from the United States and have been in Japan for 3 years, but it was the 1st time to visit Shimoda, and they stayed at Sakuraya for 2 nights.

On 2nd day they went to sand ski and Ryugu park in Toji district, Kisami Ohama Beach in Shimoda and Seven water falls in Kawazu town.

2013/04/22 A present from Switzerland

Our customers, a family from Switzerland gave us chocolates as a present.

They will stay for 8 nights from today.

My children love chocolate very much. Of course, me, too.

They came from Taiwan and stayed for 1 night at Sakuraya.

They have come to Japan for many times, but it was a first time for them to come to Shimoda.

We are very sorry, but it had been rainy during their stay.

One of them, he speaks Japanese very well, so we could have a good comunication in Japanese.

I took this picture on the beach behind Shirahama shrine this morning.

They had big waves today, but it was a good condition for surfing.

 

2013/03/13 New Old Type Car made in Japan!

Our customer who is from Germany and lives in Tokyo came to Shirahama by this car and stayed for 2 nights.

This car was made by Nissan 20 years ago in Japan and it is called 'Figaro', but it looks very new.

She went to Kawazu town and Minami Izu town to see cherry blossoms by this car.

I drove this car for the first time this morning, but it was exciting!

It looks like a car in an old film.

2013/02/24 Thank you for staying with us.

They came from England to Japan for the 1st time.

Actually they stayed for several weeks in New Zealand before coming to Japan.

In Izu peninsula they  went to Kawazu town to see the cherry blossoms and took the cabel car to climb Mt. Nesugata in Shimoda.

They are going to Hakone and Tokyo after Shimoda, and they will leave Japan next week after a week travel in Japan.

They stayed at Sakuraya for only one night, but we could have a very good time with them.

Thank you very much for coming to Japan and staying with us in Shimoda.

2013/01/25 Present from Germany!

Today we got a great present from Germany.

Our customers who live in German and have stayed at Sakuraya three times sent us these two bottles of wine.

They are made in German and one of them is an icewine.

I have never drunk icewine and have not tried them yet.

So we are looking forward to drinking them.

They came from Hong Kong and stayed at Sakuraya for 1 night.

They traveled in Hokkaido for 8 days last year and came to Japan this year again with the same period.

She is holding a postcard which we gave her as a present of 25th anniversary of Pension Sakuraya.

2013/01/12 New Year Card from France

Yesterday we got a new year card from France.

They stayed at Sakuraya for 2 nights in last June.

We remember them very well because they gave us a present, La petit tour Eiffel When they checked out.

They are from Germany and some of them have lived in Tokyo since last July.

It was the 2nd time for them to come to Shimoda, and they stayed at Sakuraya for the 1st time as their friends who stayed at Sakuraya 2 years ago recommended them our Pension.

When they checked out they said, "We will come back here with my sister in law this summer."

We were very glad to hear that!

Several days ago we got a postcard from our customers who live in France and stayed at Sakuraya in last June.

And in this message they said they would sent us a souvenir of Toulous in France.

As they told us we got a pretty and sweet candy yesterday.

Thank you for sending your postcard, message and wonderful presents from France!

 

We are really appreciated and are very glad that you remember us.

They came from Hong Kong.

They have come to Japan for several times, but it was a first time to come to Izu.

They went to the Japanese restaurant "Nakagawa" in Shimoda to have dinner, and had the boiled red snapper and the fresh Sashimi.

We had strong wind and heavy rain in the evening, but it became sunny on the 2nd day.
So they went to the beach and the Shirahama shrine after check-out.

They are very nice and lovely couple, and we could have a good time with them.

During their stay we had north wind, so they could not swim but went to Shimoda city to walk around and Onsen.

After Shimoda they go to Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka.

They came to Japan from Switzerland for the 1st time, and came to Shimoda as the last place of 3 weeks travel in Japan.

During their stay we had strong north wind, so they went to Shimoda city, Shimoda Park, Tatado beach and Nesugata Yama cable car.

As they didn't have strong wind on the last day they went to the beach for swimming before check out.

We had a great time with this lovely family.
