Do you know what kind of blossom this is?
I took this picture through the window of room #104, the Japanese style room.
I think those who stayed in this room have seen these in early summer.
It will be a fruit in every June.
The answer is loquat.

On last Friday I went to Toi town in Izu city, on the other side of Izu peninsula, with my wife and her friends.
Long time ago there used be a lot of gold mine in this peninsula, but Toi gold mine was the largest one.
We can get into the mine by walking and there are museum and suvenir shops.

Pension Sakuraya in Shimoda, Japan
On last Sunday my daughter had a ping pong game at Junio High School in Minami-Izu town, so I took her by my car.
During their games I went to Ocii Beach for snorkeling for the first time.
There is a small fisherman port and the water around breakwater was really clear.
I could see many kinds of fish and took a lot of pictures of them.

This morning I went to the beach for a walk after long time.
It was sunny here in Shimoda but we had a very strong wind in Shirahama.
I was going to walk heading to Shimoda downtown, but I changed my mind due to the strong wind.
I took this picture behind Shirahama shrine.
This afternoon my wife said,
"Look at this. This sakura is blooming!"
There are some Sakura trees in our field, and this is "Kawazu Sakura".
This tree blooms from the beginning of February, but it has some blossoms.
It's too early, see you again in next February!
As it was very warm today I went to the beach for snorkeling.
There are not so many good points in Shirahama, but Itado area is one of good points in Shimoda.
The water was a little cold, but it was very clear and I could see a lot of fishes there.
Today my wife and I went to the Shirahama primary school.
We had a class observation of my son's class.
When we got to the school they were learning the living things of this season.
This week they are going to go outisede to explor and find out the plants and the bugs.
My camera is not good at taking night sky, so I could not take it.....
Last night my wife said outstide at around 12:30 AM,
"Look at that! there are a lot of stars!"
I went out and look up the sky. There were a lot of stars twinkling.
When we were looking we found out a shooting star.
I didn't know, but in these days we have had a meteor stream "Orionids", so we could see one of them.
From this season the air is very clear and we can see a lot of stars in the night sky here in Shimoda.
Recently most of Japanese people eat white polished rice.
10 days ago my father in low sent us the unpolished rice cooking set.
This set has a bag of unpolished rice and a pressure cooker, so we tried cooking unpolished rice with adzuki beans.
It was not only really nice and delicious, but also chewy texture and tastes sweeter than white rice.
Of course it has a nutrition.
Since last Tuesday we have had strong north wind here in Shirahama.
From this season we sometimes have strong wind.
That's why we have already set the fences on the beach on last Sunday, and the sand on the beach are protected from the wind by these fences.
It was very good timing.
Yesterday it was sunny and very hot here in Shimoda, but I could not go to the beach to swim.
So I went to the sea for snorkeling today.
It takes about 15 minutes by car from Sakuraya to Kujuppama Beach.
This beach is very small but the water was really clear and I could take pictures of fishes.
In this season we set up the fences on the beach.
Because we have strong north east wind between autumn and spring, and because we have to protect the sand on the beach from this wind.
Today we had a work to set up the fences from 7:00 AM.
In this early morning we had a heavy rain and stopped raining before work, but it began to rain again after we started to work.
However we finished to do it in the rain......
It was rainy here in Shimoda today.
When the rain was stopped around noon I went out to take pictures.
I found out the water drops on the Aloe near Sakuraya.
This aloe became fresh after the rain.
In last one week we have been very busy, so we could not go to the beach.
But today I went to the beach with my son after school.
At this point in the Shirahama beach there are a lot of flotsam, and Yuuki played with them.

This is Yuuki.
In this season we can see many kinds of fruit at the super market in Japan.
Today my grand mother who lives in Miyazaki sent us these fruits.
This is a Pear, but this pear is bigger than the other kind of pear in Japan.
The flavor is like grape and very sweet.
Thank you, grand ma!
I have been wonderting this since long time ago.
These are the slippers for the public toilet in Sakuraya.
I have never heard that the slippers are fresh.
I think this is wrong English....
But is it possible to use "Fresh" in this case?

This is a Sashimi combination which our customers ordered on last weekend, and we provided this Sashimi with Ise-ebi Lobster.
In Izu peninsula the lobster season has already started from the middle of September, and we can get it until May next year.
Fresh lobster is tasted a little sweet and very delicious!
When we have a order of Ise-ebi Lobster we can cook it as Miso-soup for breakfast if the customer like.
Why don't you try Lobster in Japan?
Today it was sunny after 3 days, but we had a cold horth wind.
I watched TV news this evening and they said they had first snow of this season in Hokkaido today.
That7s why it was a little cold here in Shimoda.
But the weather forecast says it will be sunny this weekend.
By the way I went to the nearest beach called Shirahama Beach with my son after school.
There were some surfers in the water but nobody was swimming today.
Every day my son, Yuuki has to do homework.
For example, writing and reading in Japanese or math.
Today he had to study how to write Japanese Kanji character.
When I was looking at him my wife said,
"In these days the primary school students have to learn more difficult Kanji character than we did."
"Oh, really? Let me check it.".......
I have been thinking that I wanted to go to Nishi-Izu town for snorkeling for a long time.
2 years ago, when I went to Nishi-Izu town for buissines I went to Futo Beach and found out that the water was very clear, and decided to come here again in the future.
On 29th September I could go to Futo beach but the condition was not good, so I change the point to Sehama Beach next to Futo beach.
There is a island called "Son no shima", and I could find out a lot of fishes around this island.

Pension Sakuraya in Shirahama, Shimoda
On every Sunday morning Kamen Rider "Fourze" is televised from 8:00 AM.
My son, Yuuki usually doesn't wake up early on weekdays, but he wakes up by himself on only Sunday morning.
Kamen Rider Fourze is a new hero on TV started from the beginnning of this month.
This hero can wear various weapons or tools by using switches on his belt.
This afternoon Yuuki was making somethings in his room and came to the kitchen to show them.
Yes, he made 3 switches with toy, legos, by himself.
He loves Kamen Rider!!!

My daughter may caught a cold and has a fever around 37 degrees.
Because it had been really hot here in Shimoda until last week, but in these days it has been very cold every morning and evening.
Please be careful, everybody in Japan.
By the way all customers checked out this morning, and the long summer season was over.
After May 11th we have been worrying about this summer because of the earthquake and the nuclear accident, but we could have a lot of customers from all over the world during this summer and didn't have any troubles at Sakuraya.
Thank you very much for staying with us this summer.
Anyway, this morning we started to do a general house cleaning after the long busy season.
First of all, as we don't have any customers on these weekday we washed all bed covers and mats of the Western style rooms and dried them in the dining room!
This time the typhoon attacked Japan and landed in Shizuoka Pref.
We had been in blackout for 5 hours from 4:00 PM, but the power supply was cut off in some places near Shimoda for 24 hours.
Anyway we are all safe.
Today I went to the beach with my son after school to take pictures.
It was really beautiful day and they had good waves for surfing in Shirahama.
They came from Tokyo and stayed at Sakuraya for 2 nights.
During their stay they went to the beach, Shimoda Aquarium and some places in Shimoda.
As it had been sunny and very hot here in Shimoda, they could have a great time.
When they checked out he said,
"We came here for our 2nd wedding anniversary.!

When I was cleaning up the guest rooms after check-out I could find out the blue sea through the window.
" Yes, they are inviting me today!!"
After 2:00 PM I went to the nearest beach "Shirahama".
Today it was really hot and humid, but the sky and the sea were gorgeous!!
I took a lot of pictures on the beach and this is one of best pictures today.
The white clouds were floating in the sky!!
This morning it was cloudy here in Shimoda, but it became sunny and very hot after that.
I went to the beach to take pictures and there were some people swimming or surfing.
They had very good waves for surfing today.
Yuuki's birthday is September 17th actually, but it is Saturday during busy holidays this year and we will have a lot of customers.
So we decided to have a Birthday Party tonight.
This morning I had already told him about this party, so he couldn't wait for it after school.
"What time will we start the party?"
Because he will get birthday prezents!......
I have been thinking that I was going to go to the Togai-hama Beach to take photos since 3 days ago.
When I served the breakfast our customer this morning he said,
"Where is the good point for snorkeling?"
I told him some points in Shimoda, but I said to him,
"Oh, are you interested in snorkeling? I was going to go to the one of good points by accident, actually. Do you go with me? As we don't have any other customeres today I can take you there by my car".
After breakfast we went to Togai-hama together by my car.
It was amazing point for snorkeling! we could meet a lot of fishes and found out the stingray as well!
Of course I could take a lot of good photos for our website.
It was very hot here in Shimoda today, so I decided to go to Suzaki area for snorkeling.
It takes about 15 mintutes by car from Pension Sakuraya.
There is a small island called Ebisujima.
There are some good snorkeling points around this island.
