We had a heavy rain and a strong wind this morning, but the weather was changed at around noon.
When I went to Shimoda down town to pick up my daughter I took this photo on the way to the beach.
There used be a big building over there, so we couldn't see the ocean from this place.
But now we have a great view of the white sand and the blue sea....
Today we had a sunshine in the morning, but it became cloudy after that.
But the temperature was not of high, so it was a little comfortable.
This afternoon I went to the sing board on the corner of Road #135 to mow the grasses.
After an hour the sign board appeared, and our customers will be able to find it out easily.
After that I went to the beach......

This morning I waked up at 4:30 AM because it was too hot in my room.
I tride to sleep again, but I couldn't continue sleeping any more.
When I saw outside the sun was just rising on the horizon, so I went to the Torii Gate of Shirahama shrine on the beach to take photos of sunrise.
Here are some other photos which I took this morning.
This morning the weather forecast said that the rainy season in kyushu area, the southern part of Japan, has over.
The high atmospheric pressure has been covering the southern part of Japan in these days, so I can understand it.
But they also said this high pressure would be getting smaller next week and we would have rain again.
It means we have to wait for the end of the rainy season for a while.
However it was very hot and beautiful again here in Shimoda today.
The color of the ocean was really gorgeous!!....

Today it was very beautiful and hot here in Shimoda.
So I went to the nearest beach "Shirahama Beach" with my son.
And we moved to the other beaches for snorkering after that.
The water was still cold, but my son was really excited today.
According to the news website it was over 30 degrees around Tokyo yesterday.
It was alomost summer!
But here in Shimoda it was cloudy yesterday and the temperature was about 25 degrees.
We didn't feel it was hot here because we had a good wind for us.
By the way it became sunny and hot today.
I took this picture at Miharashi Hiroba Park in Shirahama Beach.
We could see the blue sea after a long time, because it has been cloudy and rainy for about 2 weeks due to the rainy season now in Japan......
Last night, when I was looking for the datas in my computer I found out this picture.
They are my daughters.
I took this when they were taking a bath in 2002, so they were 7 and 4 years old.
They were very cute in those days and it is sweet memories for my wife and me.
But, of course they are now very cute for us!
In these days it has been cloudy and sometimes rainy here in Shimoda.
It can't be helped because now we are in the rainy season in Japan.
If we don't have rain in this season vegetable and rice will not be glown well.
So the rain is very important for the plants and us.
By the way I show you the pictures which my children drew.
The first one is drawn by my son, Yuuki, the day before yesterday.
He is interested in drawing picutre basically, and he is getting better day by day.
This time he drew the scene which he and his sister were having the hotcakes in the kitchen.
There are hotcakes on the table, window, clock, calender, fridge, thermos and etc...

This place is "Aloe no Sato", Aloe Field in Shirahama in Shimoda.
There is a walking path and stair cases, and actually we can see the Izu Seven Islands on the pacific ocean from the top of slope, but we couldn't see them today.
There are a lot of Aloe trees on seaside and steep slope, and we have the Aloe festival here on december and January.
Today I went to this place to mow the grasses as a member of Shirahama Tourist Association.
In this season the Aloe trees are covered by tall grasses and they can't get sulight.
Today it was rainy this morning I took my elder daughter to the high school by car.
I usually take the road through Shimoda down town and the seaside to go back home, but I took the different way through the mountain.
When I was driving I found out the clouds between mountains.
It seemed as if the mountain was breathing deeply and slowly....

This is a hydrangea in our garden.
First of all they have white blossoms, but the color is changing to purple and blue day by day.
Now they have 30 % blooming and we will be able to see the full blooming on around June 20th.
But I love this young color because I feel that they have young spirit and power.
Anyway the rain suits them very well in this season.

I went to the shop at the half point between the primary school and our house to pick up my son.
When we were walking on the way home my son said,
"I'm very tired today. I want to take a break."
"Ok, let's go to the beach."
We went to the parking lot on the beach and took a time for a while.....
My wife usually goes to the shop on the way from the primary school to pick my son up, but today I went.
After I met my son we went to the nearest beach "Shirahama Beach".
When we arrived at the beach my son got off his shoes and got into the water, and played with the sand.
"I want to swim becaues it is very hot in these days."
"OK! I will bring your swim wear next time!"
It's getting hotter and hotter day by day here in Shimoda!!

It is called "Loquat" in English, right?
Today, when I got into the Japanese style room to clean up I found out this tree has a lot of yellow fruits like this.
This tree is 24 years old or more and is getting bigger over the roof of two-story house......
Last night, when I was looking for the photos in my computer I found out this photo.
I took this photo in June 2003. It means I took this 8 years ago.
In those days my daughters were 7 years and 4 years old, and I used to go to many places with them. But now they don't.....
Anyway I took this photo at Shimoda park in Shimoda city.

Last week the #2 typhoon was coming to Japan from philippines area, but it was become to the extratropical cyclone before coming to Shimoda yesterday.
We had a lot of rain here in Shimoda last weekend, but it was not huge damage.
My daughters expected that the schools would be closed due to typhoon, but they had to go to school at last because there was no heavy rain and strong wind this morning.
As usual I went to the shop on the way from the elementary school to pick my son up, and we came back home together.
By the way I show you the photo which I took in our kitchen tonight.

Yesterday morning, as we had customers and had to prepare their breakfast, I was not be able to walk wth the children.
So I went out the building to say "Take care" to the children.
When I was waiting outside a 6th grader boy said,
"Hey, look at this! It looks like a head of Namihei!"

Today we had a lowe tide here in Shimoda.
In this season, when we have a low tide we go to the beach to get crabs.
This is Shirahama Chuo Beach located next to Shirahama Ohama Beach.
The rocks are usually in the water, but they appeared due to the low tide.
We can get crabs there! .......

It was sunny here in Shimoda again today.
I went to the beach to take photos, but the water was not so blue since the sky was misted.
Anyway there were some people on the beach and they were playing and swimming in the water.
The weather forecast says it will be rainy here in only early moring, and will be sunny the day after tomorrow and after that.
They are 3rd grade in Nihon University.
Yes, they are my junior in the international relations school, and are members of the seminar of Professor Yoshida.
Professor Yoshida took his students many times since 15 years ago.
Afte dinner I drunk with them and talked about a lot of things.
I could have a great time with them.

"Let's go to the beach, Yuuki!"
It was windy but very hot here in Shimoda.
Today we had a big party of our customers, but I went to the beach with my son.
There were a lot of surfers in the water and some people on the beach.
Some of them were swimming!
The water is still a little bit cold, but it was almost summer here in Shimoda!!
Today it was very beutiful day here in Shimoda.
And it was getting hotter around noon but we had a strong wind.
Koinobori flags were swimming in the blue sky and they made us very happy.
The weather forcast says it will be sunny tomorrow as well, and will be rainy after that.
My son's Koinobori flags will go to bed until next April.

In Japan, we, Japanese set up "Koinobori", Carp shaped flags, from April to the early month of May.
Koinobori are flown traditionally to celebrate "Children's Day" takes place on May 5th.
We, Japanese decorate Koinobori to pray that sons or grand sons grow up healty and strong.
According to the story of china, when the carp finishes climbing up the waterfall it become a dragon at the dragongate.
So Japanese parents hung Koinobori up in the sky for children rise up like a dragon in the future.
Yesterday my son, Yuuki and I set up Koinobori in our patio together.
The season of Sakura had already finished, but we can see the green leaves on the mountain instead of Sakura.
From now it is getting warmer and we have a very good season of flowers.
My son Yuuki goes to the primary school with friends by walking every day. ( You can see him behind the flowers in this picture.)
His friends, the upper class students worry about my son and help him to walk.

Today we had an entrance ceremony of Shirahama Primary School.
Yes, my son is on the 1st grade of this school from today at last.
Befoe going to school I took a picture of my son and wife at Sakuraya's balcony.
It was very warm and beautiful day, and we had a very good ceremony.

It was windy, but very beautiful day in Shirahama, Shimoda.
My son and I picked oranges called Natsu-Mikan in our garden.
This orange is a little sour taste but very delicious.
We make a home made wine with this orange every this season, and serve our customers as an aperitif.
It was very warm here in Shimoda today.
I went to Shimoda downtown for shopping with my family by car, after that I walked around Nabeta-Hama Beach, Shimoda Park and downtown.
There are 9 beaches in Shimoda ,but this is a smallest one.
They don't have big waves here because this beach is located at the bottom of Shimoda bay.
So, even if the other beaches are closed due to high waves only this beach often is opened.
I show you the other pictures which I took this beach and Sakura blossoms in Shimoda today.
It takes about 15 minutes by car from Pension Sakuraya in Shirahama.
We got into April at last.
In our garden in front of Pension Sakuraya a lot of flowers started bloom.
We can see many kinds of color, pink, yellow, blue, orange and purple under the sunshine.
Yes, now we are in Spring in Japan!

I went to Shimoda downtown this morning, and I took the pictures when I came back home at around noon.
Today it was the most beautiful day in these days and I could see the tropical blue in Shimoda.
I took this picture at "Miharashi-Hiroba" in Shirahama.
The water was really clear like one in southern islands.

It was sunny and very warm here in Shimoda today after 4 days with rain and strong wind.
I asked my son walking and went to the beach together.
While my son was playing on the beach I saw the mountains over Shirahama shrine, and found that those mountains had snow on the top.
It was very cold and we had rain last night, so they had snow there.
Spring is coming, but still a little bit cold here.
