2014/05/16 Shirahama Beach today

It was really beautiful today.

I love this blue sea, Shirahama!!

 

2014/05/15 Full Moon at sea

When I came back from Shimoda I saw a full moon shining on the Pacific ocean.

The Fireworks display will take place from 8:15 PM on Friday.

 

2014/05/13 Yellow Flowers in Shirahama

We had heavy rain in Shimoda this morning.

But the sun came back again after noon.

When I went to the beach for walking I found out the yellow flowers on the way.

This flower makes me feel that the early summer is coming soon!!

2014/05/10 Surfing Competition in Shirahama Beach

All Japan Ranking Surfing Championship has been held in Shirahama since yesterday.

As our customers who stayed with us last night participated this competition I went to the beach to support them.

 

We sometimes have very good waves for surfing, but they didn't have it.

It wiil be a final stage of this competition tomorrow.

The condition is not so good, but do your best and be a winner!

Seaside Pension Sakuraya in Shirahama, Shimoda

 

2014/05/05 Thank you for staying with us!

They came from Taiwan.

They have come to Japan twice, but it was a first time to vist Shimoda and stayed at Pension Sakuraya for 3 nights.

They walked around in Shimoda city and went to the beach early in the morning to see the sunrise.

Actually she is expected, and they will have a new family in next September.

Take care of yourself and have a good baby.

2014/05/02 Blue sea and Green leaves

It's beautiful day and very hot this morning here in Shimoda.

The mountains are covered with the fresh green leaves now!

2014/05/01 This looks like a beach in southern island?

It was cloudy this early morning, but it became sunny after that.

When I went to the nearest beach "Shirahama" this afternoon, I found out the white clouds in the blue sky and the clear water.

Even if you want to get this beautiful beach you don't have to the southern islands.

It takes only 3 or 4 hours from Tokyo to this gorgeous paradise!

 

 

2014/04/27 Carp Streamer "Koinobori"

We will have the children's day on May 5th, so I stood up the carp streamer for my son yesterday.

We had a little wind, but it was sunny and very warm here in Shimoda today.

I went to the nearest beach "Shirahama" with my son to take pictures.

As they had good waves there were a lot of surfers on the beach.

2014/04/27 The Japanese style room is

now ready for check-in.

This room has windows on west side and south side, so we can get a lot of sun light  through the window.

2014/04/19 Thank you for staying!

They came from Taiwan.

They stayed in Tokyo for 2 nights and came to Shimoda for the 1st time.

After they checked out they went to Seven waterfalls in Kawazu town next to Shimoda by bus.

We are very sorry about the weather, but we hope you will come back to Japan again!

2014/04/18 New shampoo and conditioner

We prepared new shampoo and conditioner instead of Two-in-one Shampoo for our customers.

These are very popular at beauty parlors and hotels in Japan.

Have a nice bath time!

2014/04/17 Butterfly in our garden

It was very warm here in Shirahama today.

A lot of bugs seemed to be very busy to get lunch under the sun shine.

2014/04/10 Shirahama Beach this morning

There was nobody on the beach when I took pictures this morning.

We had a little strong west wind, but it was very warm.

 

2014/04/09 Thank you for staying!

They came from Shanghai in China.

They arrived at Kansai International Airport and stayed in Kyoto for 3 nights.

After that, they came to Shimoda and stayed at Pension Sakuraya for 1 night.

One of them has lived in Japan, so he speaks Japanese very well.

They are funny and good people!!

2014/04/07 Beautiful sea, Shirahama beach!

I walked on the seaside road after a long time.

We had a little cold west wind today, but the sea was really gorgeous.

I wanted to show our customers this beautiful scenery on last weekend.

The air temperature is getting higher and higher in this season.

If the beach condition was same as today we would be able to swim in Golden week, at the beginning of May!

When I went out for shopping I found out the beautiful sky at sunset time.

I walked on the beach to take pictures!

They are from France and live in Tokyo.

3 years ago they have stayed at Pension Sakuraya, and came this weekend for the 2nd time.

They went to Tatado beach for swimming, but how was the water? Did you get into the water?

When they checked out they said, "It was very good stay because the rooms are very nice and breakfast is delicious! We will be back again!"

We appreciate to hear their very good comment.

2014/04/04 Blue Sea Shirahama and Sakura Blossoms Falling

It was sunny today and we had blue sky after several days.

After the fully blooming of Sakura the petals of Sakura trees in Shimoda are falling by wind now.

 

 

 

2014/04/01 Sakura blossoms in Shimoda

I went to Shimoda with my son for cycling today.

All of Sakura trees in Shimoda are almost fully blooming.

They are a family from the United States and stayed in Shimoda before leaving Japan after 2 weeks travel in Japan.

2014/03/29 Fresh seaweed "Wakame" from Shirahama beach

My daughter got a fresh seaweed "Wakame" which her friend's parents got from Shirahama Beach today.

We had dinner with this seaweed as cooking with vegetables in a pot.

Wild fresh seaweed "Wakame" is changed its color soon after putting them into the hot water!

2014/03/28 Cycling in Minami Izu town

It was sunny and very warm today, so I went to Minami Izu town with my son to ride a bicycle and play on the beach.

2014/03/24 My son on Shirahama Beach

We had a little south wind, but it was very warm here in Shirahama today.

So my son and I went to the beach this afternoon.

It was a first time for us to get into the sea water, but it wasn't cold.

They came from Tokyo and stayed for 2 nights.

During their stay in Shimoda they walked around in Shimoda and went to the top of Mt. Nesugata, and came back by walking from the montain.

2014/03/21 Beautiful day in Shirahama, Shimoda

We had strong west wind, but it was sunny and warmer than yesterday.

The weather forecast says it will be sunny again tomorrow and will be warmer than today.

A good season to play on the beach has come!!

 

2014/03/15 Sunset time in Shirahama

When I saw the sea through the window of Pension Sakuraya, there were red clouds in the sky.

So I went to the beach with my camera and took some pictures.

There was a mostly full moon over the clouds.

2014/03/12 Sakura Mochi and Sakura Manjuu

Have you ever tried this?

These are Sakura Mochi and Sakura Manjuu.

They are Japanese traditional confection.

In this season we can see these sweet at a lot of places in Japan.

 

 

 

Sakura Mochi makes us feel that spring has come!!
