This morning I took my daughter to school as usual.
On the way home I took this picture at Shirahama Beach.
It was very cold here this moring, but the air was very clear.
In this season we sometimes can see the Izu seven islands on the horizon clearly.
This morning I took my daughter to the school and went to Shimoda downtown after thatn.
When I was driving in downtown I found out the dried fishes out of shop on the road.
I asked him to take pictures, and he told me that he waked up at 2:00 am every day.
"Every day?"
I said and he answered.
"Yes, because I have to start to make dried fishes to provide them to the travellers before noon."
"Really?"......
I took this picture on the way to the school to take my daughter this morning.
Today we could see the Amagi moutains clearly, but we had strong wind like a storm in Shirahama, and the sea was rough.
In this season the fishermem go to the sea to fish Iseebi lobster, but they can't do it under this condition today.
On last Thursday and Friday we had strong wind and heavy rain like storm here in Shimoda.
But today it was beautiful and we could see the blue sky and sea after long time.
When I went to Shimoda dowmtown with my son I took some pictures on the beach.
The strong wind brought the sand from the beach to the road like this.

Pension Sakuraya in Shimoda, Japan
Today my daughter had a game of ping pong at junior high school in Minami Izu town, so I took her with my son.
During her games, as we had 3 hours my son and I drove to southern part of Izu peninsula.
We saw the fisherman left for Ise ebi fishing from small fisherman's port.
They put the lobster net in the sea from now and will pull up them at around 4 or 5 AM tomorrow.
The period of lobster fishing is between September and May in Izu peninsula.
Today we had strong west wind here in Shimoda.
When I went shopping I took this picture on the way to the beach.
We could see clear bule sea and Izu Oshima Island over the ocean.
From this season we sometimes have cold west wind, and we can see the boats which come to this sea to protect them from the strong wind.
Becuase they have more than 30 or 40 m/s wind at around Irozaki cape.
Too dangerous for them it is!
Yesterday we had strong wind and heavy rain here in Shimoda.
It was almost typhoon, but we didn't have any problem with it.
Today the weather was changed!
We could see the blue sky and sea this morning, so I decided to go to the nearest beach "Shirahama" with my son this afternoon.
I am a member of Izu Shirahama Tourist association.
Today we went to Itado area in Shirahama to clean up the Aloe field.
There are a lot of Aloe on a hill, and we can see Shirahama beach from this hill.
The Aloe festival will take place from December 9th.
This field is one of good points for the pictures, because the contrast of blue cloor of sea and red one of Aloe is very gorgeous.

I have been thinking that I was going to go to the Togai-hama Beach to take photos since 3 days ago.
When I served the breakfast our customer this morning he said,
"Where is the good point for snorkeling?"
I told him some points in Shimoda, but I said to him,
"Oh, are you interested in snorkeling? I was going to go to the one of good points by accident, actually. Do you go with me? As we don't have any other customeres today I can take you there by my car".
After breakfast we went to Togai-hama together by my car.
It was amazing point for snorkeling! we could meet a lot of fishes and found out the stingray as well!
Of course I could take a lot of good photos for our website.
It was very hot here in Shimoda today, so I decided to go to Suzaki area for snorkeling.
It takes about 15 mintutes by car from Pension Sakuraya.
There is a small island called Ebisujima.
There are some good snorkeling points around this island.

Today it was very beautiful day and very hot here in Shimoda.
when I went to the super market to buy icecreams with my son we went to the beach to take photos.
There were some people on the beach and the blue water was shinning under the sun.

Pension Sakuraya in Shirahama, Shimoda
Today it was the best day in these 10 days in Shirahama.
When I was cooking in the kitchen this morning the sunshine which I saw through the window was really different from last 10 days.
At around 12:00 I went to the nearest beach "Shirahama" to take pictures.
There were white clouds floating in the blue sky, and white sand and blue sea were shining under the sky.
Yes, the great summer was back here in Shirahama again.
They are inviting you!!
Have you ever been to Shimoda?
White sandy beach, blue sea and Izu Oshima Island on the horizon.....
It takes about only 3 or 4 hours to get there from Tokyo.
And you can get an amazing scenery like this!

Yesterday the rainy season was over here in Tokai area in Japan, and today it was over in Kanto area too.
I was wondering that the rainy season had been over yesterday, because it was almost cloudy here in Shimoda.
But summer has come to Shimoda at last.
When I was cleaning the guest rooms I could see the blue sea through the window.
So I decided to go to the beach to take pictures.
I took this on the way to the nearest beach "Shirahama" from Sakuraya.
Look at that gorgeous color of the sea!
It's amazing color, isn't it? ....

This morning the weather forecast said that the rainy season in kyushu area, the southern part of Japan, has over.
The high atmospheric pressure has been covering the southern part of Japan in these days, so I can understand it.
But they also said this high pressure would be getting smaller next week and we would have rain again.
It means we have to wait for the end of the rainy season for a while.
However it was very hot and beautiful again here in Shimoda today.
The color of the ocean was really gorgeous!!....

According to the news website it was over 30 degrees around Tokyo yesterday.
It was alomost summer!
But here in Shimoda it was cloudy yesterday and the temperature was about 25 degrees.
We didn't feel it was hot here because we had a good wind for us.
By the way it became sunny and hot today.
I took this picture at Miharashi Hiroba Park in Shirahama Beach.
We could see the blue sea after a long time, because it has been cloudy and rainy for about 2 weeks due to the rainy season now in Japan......
This place is "Aloe no Sato", Aloe Field in Shirahama in Shimoda.
There is a walking path and stair cases, and actually we can see the Izu Seven Islands on the pacific ocean from the top of slope, but we couldn't see them today.
There are a lot of Aloe trees on seaside and steep slope, and we have the Aloe festival here on december and January.
Today I went to this place to mow the grasses as a member of Shirahama Tourist Association.
In this season the Aloe trees are covered by tall grasses and they can't get sulight.
Today it was rainy this morning I took my elder daughter to the high school by car.
I usually take the road through Shimoda down town and the seaside to go back home, but I took the different way through the mountain.
When I was driving I found out the clouds between mountains.
It seemed as if the mountain was breathing deeply and slowly....

Today we had a lowe tide here in Shimoda.
In this season, when we have a low tide we go to the beach to get crabs.
This is Shirahama Chuo Beach located next to Shirahama Ohama Beach.
The rocks are usually in the water, but they appeared due to the low tide.
We can get crabs there! .......
"Let's go to the beach, Yuuki!"
It was windy but very hot here in Shimoda.
Today we had a big party of our customers, but I went to the beach with my son.
There were a lot of surfers in the water and some people on the beach.
Some of them were swimming!
The water is still a little bit cold, but it was almost summer here in Shimoda!!
Today it was very cold here in Shimoda.
My son got into the spring holiday from today, so I went to Shimoda for shopping, and after that drove around Shimoda with him.
I took this picture at Shimoda harbor at 4:30 PM.
Yesterday massive earthquake hit North-Eastern Japan, and a lot of places and people were affected.
The coast in Shimoda was warned against Tsunami in the afternoon yesterday, and we had Tsunami only 80 centimeters in Shimoda harbor.
But Tsunami warning was cancelled today.
I went to Shimoda downtown for shopping and took some pictures on the way.
This is Shirahama Beach in Shimoda, and there was no damage there.
We had a lot of messages and e-mails from all over the world since yesterday, but we all are safe!

As Kawazu Sakura Festa is taking place and today was Sunday, there were a lot of people on the beach.

My wife said so this morning.
So I opened the window and found the white world there.
"I'm going to the beach to take pictures!" I said to my wife.
On the way to the beach there were a lot of snow we haven't had such a snow scince 3 years ago.
This morning I went to the junior high school to take my daughter by my car.
On the way back home I took this picture.
In last few days it had been cloudy and raing in Shimoda, so we could see the islands after 3 days.
It was a really fantastic scenary!!
Today it was warmer than yesterday.
After I prepared the room, bath and everything for our customers I went to Ogasaki Wing to take pictures for the webpage "Walking Guide in Shirahama" on our website.
The distance between Sakuraya and Ogasaki Wing is about 6 or 7 kirometers, and it takes about 1 hour by walking.
Before getting to Ogasaki Wing there is a steep staircases like this photo.
It was really hard to climb up this carrying the bike on my shoulder.
Today it was sunny and very warm in Shimoda.
Then I decided to go to Shimoda downtown by bike.
First of all I didn't decide where I go after that, but I dexided to go to south part of Izu peninsula.
After Shimoda downtown I went the Kisami Beach, and arrived at the Touji Beach.

It was rainy and very cold all day yesterday, but it became sunny today.
This morning my daughter had a sport competition at Shimoda junior high schoo, so I took her by my car.
When I went down the hill the moutains with white snow appeared over there.
I took this photo when I came back to Shirahama.
Amagi mountains are highest one in Izu peninsula, and they have snow once or twice every winter!!
However we don't have snow here in Shirahama....
