2012/05/15 Pery Road and Ryosenji Temple in Shimoda, Japan

As the weather forecast said yesterday, it started to rain from 9:00 AM in Shimoda.

When I went to Shimoda downtown I walked on the Pery Road to Ryosenji temple and took a lot of pictures.

It was raining there, but the jasmine blossoms have already started blooming and I could get a good smell with them.

This weekend the 73rd Black Ship Festival will take place in Shimoda, and there will be some shops on this street.

2012/05/12 Thank you for staying.

They came to Japan from Switzerland, and stayed for 3 nights at our Pension.

It had been almost sunny during their stay.

They went to Shimoda downtown on the 2nd day, and spent all day on the nearest beach "Shirahama" on the 3rd day.

She is expected and they will have a new family in August.

We hope you will have a bouncing baby!!

Our customer who came from Switzerland and stayed for 3 nights gave us this present.

2012/05/06 Shirahama Beach Today - - Good waves for surfing!

During Golden Week I couldn't go anywhere with my children, beacu we had been very busy.

So I went to the nearest beach "Shirahama" with my son this afternoon.

There were some surfers on the beach and they had good waves for surfing.

2012/05/05 Sunny day with blue sky and sea

Yesterday it was sunny but we had strong wind here in Shimoda.

But today we didn't have strong wind, and the air temperature was getting higher and higher.

Yes, it was almost summer.

When I took pictures there were a lot of people swimming, surfing, walking on the beach.

I wanted to swim today.....

2012/05/04 Sun shine and Blue sky came back!

On May 2nd they had a lot of rain and a land slide in Amagi mountain.

But today we could see a sun shine and a blue sky.

They made our customers very happy.

Koinobori (Carp streamer) also loves blue sky!

2012/05/02 Rainy day in Shimoda

I took this picture in front of Seven Eleven in Shirahama when I went to the school to pick my daughter up this afternoon.

Now it's 1:30 AM on May 3rd we have a heavy rain and strong wind outside.

However, the weather forecast says it will be cloudy tomorrow and sunny after that.

It's a very good news for our customers during Golden Week.

2012/05/01 Walking through the fresh leaves

I walked around Sakuraya alone this afternoon.

In this season we can see fresh green leaves everywhere in Shimoda.

It was very comfortable for me to walk through the fresh air and nature!

2012/04/ 29 The water is getting warmer and warmer in Shimoda!!

I went to the beach to take photos with my son this afternoon.

Threre were some people on the beach and some of them brought sun umbrella and tent.

The water was very warm today.

2012/04/28 Koinobori (Carp Streamer) and Shirahama Beach today

This morning I went to the nearest beach "Shirahama" to clean up with the other local people.

And after that I set up Koinobori ( Carp Streamer) with my son.

It was very hot here in Shimoda, Japan today.

2012/04/27 Kuroshio, a warm ocean current

I am checking this website (only Japanese) out everyday, and the water temperature is getting warmer and warmer than 10 days ago.

There is a warm ocean current "Kuroshio" that flows northeastwardly off the coast of Japan into the northern Pacific ocean.

The water temperature is changing depending on this current, and this current is getting closer to Izu peninsula in these days.

That's why the water temperature is very warm here in Shimoda.

If you come to Shimoda during this Golden Week you should bring a swim wear.

The air temperature is also getting warmer day after day!!

2012/04/25 Plum in our garden

It was sunny and very hot today again.

Now it's around 8:00 PM, but I put on just only T-shirt.

By the way I took this picture in our garden this afternoon.

This is a plum tree and it has a lot of plums getting bigger and bigger.

We  make a plum wine by ourselves on every June, but we will provide it 8 or 9 years later.

Yes, we serve 8 years old plum wine for dinner this year.

2012/04/23 It rained cats and dogs in Shimoda.

Today we had a heavy rain around noon here in Shimoda.

This rain stopped all trains running on Izukyuko line between Ito and Shimoda after 2:00 PM.

They are French family and have been in Tokyo since 5 months ago.

They came to Shimoda for the 1st time and stayed at Sakuraya for 2 nights.

On second day they went to the nearest beach "Shirahama" in a little bit strong wind, but did you have a good time here in Shimoda?

They will stay in Japan for 3 years.

2012/04/17 The water temperature is getting warmer!!

About 10 days ago it was 14 degrees, but I found out that it is now 16 or 17 degrees!

This is a map of the water temperature of the pacific ocean.

In this season the water temperature is getting warmer day after day.

In addition, the air temperature is also getting warmer, of course.

During Golden Week we can see a lot of people swimming in Shimoda.

Please don't foget the swim wear if you come to Shimoda from this season!!

2012/04/09 Let's go up to the Mt. Nesugata in Shimoda by cablecar!

The TV show said it was 23*C or over in this afternoon in Tokyo.

Here in Shimoda it's also getting warmer day by day.

When I was driving it was too hot inside, so I opened the window.

By the way, I took this picture on the riverside near Shimoda train station in this afternoon.

There is a cable car going up to the top of mountain, surrounded by Sakura trees and fresh green leaves.

In this season a lot of flowers start blooming on the top.

Let's try and go to the top by cablecar!

2012/04/08 Sakura Blossoms in Matsuzaki town

I went to Matsuzaki town to see Sakura blooming with my wife and son this afternoon.

There is a river called "Nakagawa" in Matsuzaki town, and there are more than 1,200 Sakura trees on the riverside of 6 kirometers.

In addition, there is a big field of flowers.

We could feel Spring has come there today.

2012/04/07 Kujuppama Beach in Shimoda with my son

Today it was sunny and very warm here in Shimoda again.

As my son had a holiday today we went to Kujuppama beach, 15 minutes driving from Pension Sakuraya.

This beach is good for swimming and snorkeling, so it's very crowded in summer.

We put short pants to get into the water today, but it was still very cold.

2012/04/06 My son goes to school on this road. - - Shirahama Beach

Today it was a first day of new school year.

My son finished classes at 11:00AM, so I went to pick him up.

On the way home I took this picture.

My children go to school on this road everyday looking over the blue sea like this.

They are very happy, and we have to appreciate that we can live here, a beautiful place in Shimoda.

2012/04/05 Shirahama Beach in Shimoda today - - Video on YouTube

On last Monday we had strong wind and heavy rain here in Shioda, and it was still windy yesterday.

Today, as it became sunny and we didn't have strong wind I went to the nearest beach "Shirahama" with my son.

It takes about 4 minutes by walking from Pension Sakuraya.

I went to the nearest beach "Shirahama" this afternoon.

It was very warm here in Shimoda today, but the water was still cold.

My son was excited with the clear water!!

2012/04/01 Tour Boat "Sasukehana" in Shimoda Harbor

Yesterday we had strong wind and heavy rain Shimoda, but it became sunny again today.

We can feel that Shimoda is full of spring everywhere.

When I went to Shimoda downtown I took this picture at Shimoda harbor.

We can see a black ship over there.

That is a tour boat called "Sasukehana".

2012/03/30 Thank you for staying for 3 nights.

They came from Tokyo and stayed for 3 nights with their grand mother who is from England.

They spent all day with the blue water on the beach under the sun for 2 days.

And they went to the beach to say good bye before leaving on the last day.

Thank you for staying with us.

We also had a great time with you!

When I was cleaning up the road this afternoon I found out it.

This is a tiny violet blooming in a crevis of road.

I hope this flower will not be run over by  car....

It's sunny again in Shimoda this morning.

We have a blue sky and sunshine here in Shirahama, and could see the Izu seven islands over the ocean.

I am going to the beach with my son today.

2012/03/25 Amazing! Blue Clear Water in Shirahama

Have you ever seen the blue sea like this?

Today we had a strong west wind in Shimoda, but the water was shining blue.

When I was taking photos on the road some girls said,

"Oh, great. This beach makes us excited!"

You can get the blue water like this in Shimoda, 3 hours driving from Tokyo.

You don't have to go to the southern islands to see it.

2012/03/25 A Ladybug says "Hello!"

When I was playing with my son yesterday I found out a ladybug in our garden.

She is also a small messenger of spring.

We can find out spring at many places in this season.

2012/03/23 A small, small violet in our garden

Since this morning it has been raining here in Shirahama.

But, as we don't have wind it's very quiet.

We can hear the singing of birds from the mountain, and the booming(?) of the sea as well.

When I walked around I found out a small violet in fron of the entrance of our Pension.

This flower is also telling that the spring has come.

2012/03/22 Spring Colored Beach in Shimoda

We had a little bit wind today, but it was sunny again!

When I went to the junior high school to pick my daughter up I took this picture.

From this place we can see Shirahama Beach over the rock and Amagi mountains in the distance.

Everytime I pass this place I am excited with its color under the sun shine.

Shirahama beach has been already covered by spring color!

2012/03/21 Mt. Fuji under the blue sky

Today I went to Shizuoka city by car.

I could see the beautiful Mt. Fuji with snow under the blue sky.

I took this picture at Fujikawa Service Area on Tomei Express Way this morning.

We can't see this scenery so many times a year, so I was lucky!!
